By HELOtSE CRUSE Dear Heloise: Most neck-hugger pillows are to soft to successfully keep my keep my hair in perfect shape.

So 1 lay out two old bath towels, one on top of the other, fold them in half lengthwise, then roll 'em up as you would a newspaper tightly and secure With a rubber band on each end. If you use sturdy rubber bands, they'will hold indefinitely, of until you wish to unroll the towels to wash. I've used this idea for five or six years. So comfortable, and my hair do (even the elaborate ones with side flips) will last perfectly this way. Mrs.

John Burnett Dear Heloise: Attention all popcorn ball enthusiasts Grease' two plastic cups or small bowls with butter or oil. Then use a cup in each hand to pick up and press together the Hot sticky popcorn to form hadr in perfect shape. The corn will not stick to the cup thus, no burned fingers. Ruth Palmer it it Dear Heloise: I'vegftnally learned how to darn Knitted sweaters, suits, and so on. Stretch a piece of your famous nylon net over an embroidery hoop.

Put the knitted garment on top, place the top of the hoop in position, then do your darning. You will find that your stitches will not gather together and make a pulled looking spot on the mend! Home Knitter it Dear Heioise: If you like those yummy sweet dill pickles that are too expensive sometimes to fit into the budget, just try this recipe. Buy a quart of whole dill pickles not Kosher. You will also need three fourths cup of sugar and a teaspoon celery SCGCl Slice the pickles thin, round- wise. Now use a wide mouthed jar or any bowl that has a lid.

Put in a Idyer of pickles, some celery seed and sugar. Repeat this process 'til all ingredients are in the jar. Now all you have to do is wait. I leave them on the counter a couple of days, then refrigerate. They get better and better for a couple of weeks.

After that I don't know they are always gone by then! They make their own juice. If you like them not quite so sweet, and more dill flavor, add three tablespoons of the dill pickle juice when making the pickles So easy and so good! Julia McNaughton Dear Heloise: You often talk about pants- stretchers. How about a time stretcher for us housewives? Or doesnt one have an answer to that one? I Tired Mother Dear Heloise: Vinegar is the best thing I've found to remove any kind of fruit stains on the hands. Great Grandmother Dear Heloise: I'm a do it yourself per- son and therefore have many kinds of glues, cements, on hand. Since only a small quantity of the right cement or glue is required for each job, I find that the rest of the tube is usually too dry when the next project Glen Wells Observe Anniversary Mr.
