impeachment trial today 1 that they only borrowed a motor car which the chief justice is ac cused of receiving as a bribe Both asserted that motor car agent Sautbine who was attempt ing to sellthem a motor car let i them use a car for a trip to Albu querque when he was un able to return Justice car The Sautbine agency they said had sent the Mason car Semin ole iri': an effort to sell it at a price sufficient to enable the jus tice to purchase a car from it Justice Nason they said returned the car soon after returning from New Mexico When Justice an opinion favorable to Willis Sautbine in the case in which Sajitbine and the Cities cor poration were opposed Justice Mason testified he knew neither Willis Gnor Sautbine The opinion reversing one which pre viously had been rendered he said whs handed down without dissent June 21 1927 and was included in the American law report with commendations Justice Mason is charged with accepting as a bribe a $4000 auto mobile from Willis and Charles Sautbine while they were in terested in a case before the su preme court In 1926 Mrs Mason said the automobile agency of which Charles Sautbine is head first approached her husband in an effort to sell him a car The agency renewed its efforts she said in 1927 leaving a tan colored car with her and her husband to drive while attempting to sell Jus tice car which he had owned about two months It was understood she testified that if a sufficiently large price could be obtained it would be applied to the purchase price of the Sautbine car car she said taken to Seminole for sale She Signed License Blank Later' shsaid' as she 'and Jus tice Mason were planning a trip to Albuquerque the agent sent to her home a iew green motor car He explained that he could not return the Mason car in time for the trip and that Justice Mason could use the green car She complained she said that she and her husband could not drive the car out of the state without a license and a man connected with the agency told her to go to the agency for another make of car and motor car license agent There she said she signed an application for the license and received a li cense plate and certificate of title without payment She and her husband drove the green car to Albuquerque she said where Justice Mason visited his brother who was ill While at Albuquerqae she testified she and her husband were stopped by a motorcycle policeman who ask ed to see his certificate of title Justice Mason told the policeman she said that he had no title ex plaining that the automobile be longed to an Oklahoma' City
