HIGH COST OF LIVING HAS NO TERRORS FOR CUPID Thanksgiving Weddings Break All Records According To The Marriage License Clerk--An Sections Furnish QuotaMany Ex-Service Men Among The Grooms. The High Cost of Living has no terrors for Cupid as the records of the marriage license clerk show, there being more Thanksgiving weddings this year than ever before. The marriages are not confined to any one part of the county, but every section furnishes its full quota. An outstanding feature is that the grooms include many service men, men who Thanksgiving Day, 1918, were in the trenches. There were more marriage licenses issued for Thanksgiving weddings this than ever before.

For the past week the marriage licenses issued were many in number and from Wednesday at two o'clock office closed there were 57 issued. Three clerks were on duty and they were kept busy. The following were the licenses issued a since Wednesday at o'clock. Robert P. Fisig and Helen H.

George F. Jarrett and Miss Elizabeth C. Moran, both of this city, were married on Wednesday at noon at the parsonage of St. John's Reformed church by the pastor, Rev. George P.

Seibel. MELLINGER--BARD. Jerome W. Mellinger and Miss Elmeda M. Bard, both of Ephrata, were married Friday evening by Rev.

B. G. Welder at his home in Reamstown. Mr. and Mrs.

Mellinger will reside in Ephrata. ROYER- Baker Royer and Miss Rosanna Cooper, both of Ephrata, were married on Wednesday evening at the parsonage of Trinity Lutheran church, Ephrata, by the pastor, Rev. J. W. Smith.

Following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Royer left on a wedding trip on their return from which they will reside in Ephrata, where the groom is employed by J. Frank Lutz in the automobile business. Mr.

Royer spent a year overseas in the Ordnance Department of the U. S. Government. -KRAUSKOP. Arthur Myers, son of Mr.

and Mrs. N. H. Myers, of Willow Street, and Miss Ada Krauskop, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

F. L. Krauskop, of 49 North West End avenue, were married on Thursday noon at the United Evangelical church by the pastor, Rev. George F. Schaum, They were attended by Mr.

and Mrs. Wilson V. Chambers, of Glenside, and Miss Anna Myend Mervin Myers, of Willow Street. Following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs.

Myers left on a wedding trip to Florida, and points in the south for an indefinite stay. On their return they will be home to their friends at 49 North West End avenue. GIBBLE-SNYDER. Allen Gibble, son of Gideon Gibbie, of near Elizabethtown, and Miss Lillian Snyder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Aaron Snyder, of near Mastersonville, were married on Thursday at noon at the home of the bride. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Samuel Z. Witmer, pastor of the Church of the Brethren. They will go to housekeeping in the spring on the farm of B.

F. Stauffer, near Lawn. SUMMY- SHEARER. George F. Summy, son of Abram M.

Summy, of near White Oak, and Miss Katle Shearer, daughter of Henry B. Shearer, of near Mastersonville, were married on Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock: by Rev. Allen B. Ruhl, pastor of the Church of the Brethren. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride in the presence of a number of friends and relatives.

Witman, of Elverson, Chester county, were married at 4 o'clock on Wednesday evening at the Reformed parsonage at the corner of South Broad and W. Orange streets, Lititz, by the Rev. George R. Raezer. The bride was a former parishioner of Rev.

Raezer, when he was stationed in Chester county. The bridegroom is a scientific farmer and has charge of his father's farm. STIEF-FIRESTONE Samuel 8. Stief and Miss Adaline D. Firestone, of Lititz, were married at the home of the bridegroom at 214 North Broad street, Lititz, at 6 o'clock on Thursday evening.

They were attended by the bridegroom's daughter and husband married the preceeding Saturday. The Rev. Geo. B. Raezer performed, the ceremony.
