oy ibler Elwood, Kan. Former auditor endorses Thomas in Republican race Associated Press JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. State auditor candidate Sandra Thomas gained a bragging point Thursday in the crowded Republican primary the endorsement of former Republican auditor Margaret Kelly. The retired auditor said she took the somewhat unusual step of choosing sides in the Aug. 8 primary because she has known Thomas for 15 to 20 years and likes her professional qualifications as a certified public accountant and the current Platte County auditor.

None of the other four Republican auditor candidates is an accountant or local auditor, though Democratic candidate Susan Montee of St. Joseph is both, as well as an attorney. Thomas sought endorsement. After 18 years of cardiology practice in St. Joseph, MO, I am closing my practice on A ugust 18, 2006.
