Parkston Couple Marks Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thelen celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Oct. 1 at the Brig Cafe in Mitchell. Their children, Mr.

and Mrs. James Freeman and family of Mitchell and Mr. and Mrs. Luverne Sudbeck of Ethan gave the event. They have nine grand- children.

Theresa Elsen and Arthur Thelen were married Oct. 1, 1929 at the Sacred Heart Church in Parkston with the Rev. Father Zinnerman officiating. Their attendants were Clara Elsen and Lawrense Thelen. They reside at Parkston.

Patricks Catholic Church. The Rev. Ed O'Connor offici-j ated and Mrs. Urban was organist. Attendants of the bride Misses June Addy and Jean Kayi Addy.

Attendants of the bride-j groom were Marcus Darr and Henry C. Ridder Jr. At the reception in the church hall the St. Elizabeth Guild wasj in charge. The bride attended Canistota Public School, the University ofj South Dakota and St.

Johns Hos pital, Rapid City. The bridegroom attended Pearl River schools and Belmont Addey. The couple will be at home at 520 Terrace, Apt. No. 4, Rapid City.

Arnold A. Bender of Menno. Miss Schumacher Is a secretary at the A.Y. McDonald Manufacturing Co. Her fiance is an electrical engineering senior student at South Dakota State University, Brookings.

A summer wedding is planned. Brownies Brownie Troop 365 met with 22 members present. Theresa Thomas was hostess. A discovery nature hike was taken by the girls and their leader. Junkor GS Junior Girl Scout Troop 369 continued work with flowers.

Miss Nancy Hoffie gave a demonstration on floral arrangements. The girls made arrangements and presented them to residents of Rosebud Nursing Home. Mmes. Rudy Reetz, Ber-, nard Dunn, Ed Johnson and Marvin Gtes donated flowers for the project. Cadeltes Cadettes made final arrangement for the overnight camping trip which they look to Frances Case bridge site.

VFW Women Hear Report At Wagner Meet By Republic News Service WAGNER Miss i 'Youngbluth. who was sponsored by the group, gave a report on her week at Girls Stat6 to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary at the September meeting at the VFW Mall.

The Department Council meeting will be at Vermillion 25. The group voted to pur- chase a gift pack for a Viet- 'nam serviceman and donations were made to the air conditioning project for the South 'Dakota Home at Eaton Rapids, Mich, and Mt. Rushmore Chapel. The group plans to col- let coffee labels for the Christmas presents for the national home. Alice Kafka received the door prize.
