(AP) The Los Angeles Rams have placed four players on waivers and three on the injured reserve list to reduce their squad to 63. Placed on waivers were punter Duane Carrell, a third-year man from Florida State; rookie guard Myke Horton, UCLA; rookie safety Pat Manus, Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo; and rookie placekicker John Delaney, Nichols College. The three injured players, all rookies, are punter Phil Wagenheim of Maryland, safety Gary Shaw of Brigham Young University and linebacker Frank Johnson of the University of California-Riverside. A club spokesman said none of the three is seriously injured.

Bonds to undergo surgery ANAHEIM (AP) California centerfielder Bobby Foreman reports to ikes MANKATO, Minn. (AP) Running back Chuck Foreman reported to the Minnesota Vikings training camp at Mankato State College Thursday and worked out with the team. Coach Bud Grant said Foreman looked spry and quick and his weight was good, but added he would not play in Saturday night's National Football League preseason contest at Kansas City. Foreman had said he would not Join the Vikings unless his contract was renegotiated for more money. He was put through extensive exercises Thursday and said he is ready to play.

"I'm here to play football and that's all I'm thinking about," Foreman said. Richard Stone, said Thursday he has introduced two amendments to a tax-reform bill aimed at helping American athletes compete in International competitions like the Olympics.

One amendment would give a tax credit of up to $500 a year to amateur athletes for expenses in training for the Olympics or Pan-American Games. The other would authorize tax deductions for donations to groups that "foster national or international amateur sports competition." The groups would become tax exempt, as are religious and cultural organizations. The tax reform bill is pending before the Senate in Bonds will undergo surgery for a chip fracture in his right hand Monday, an Angels spokesman said Thursday. Bonds, who hurt Ihe middle finger of his right hand sliding in an exhibition game against the Dodgers this spring, had been hampered by the injury all season. Taylor, a veteran of seven seasons in the old American Basketball Association, spent the 1974-75 season in Denver, when the Nuggets compiled a 65-19 record.
