E. Lautzenheiser and Principal George W. Monaghan. The conference trophy was presented to the team at this meeting. The '56-'58 basketball schedule was set up for a two year period and the '56 baseball schedule was completed.

The first game scheduled for Northport will be played with Leelanau for Boys on the Northport diamond, April 19. George W. Monaghan was appointed publicity chairman for the conference. It was announced the conference basketball banquet will be held at Schuler's in Traverse City April 10 at which N.W.M. Coach Robert Johnson will be the speaker.

The junior class has chosen the play "Drums of Death" to be presented in April. The class will sponsor a car wash prizes going to Mrs. Melburn Anderson and Mrs. Clifton Travis, both of Cadillac and Mrs. Clare Shively of Mesick, who in turn gave them to the guest of honor.

Refreshments were served to 17 ladies. The tiny miss received many lovely giftb. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Gould of Merrill and Robert and A of Saginaw spent the weekend here with their mother and visited their father at Munson hospital.

Hubert Mathers of Lansing spent Friday as guest of Dr. and Mrs. William Peterson. Rev. and Mrs.

John Miller went to Flint Thursday to see her sis- with a party at his home. His guests were Billy Bader, Howard VanAnterwerp of Buttons Bay; Jimmy Goss of Traverse City; Rex Core, John Werner, Dale Reece, Ronnie, Kay, Marie and Ray Collins. After playing several games, Mrs. Collins served the children a birthday supper. Eleven members of the Bingham Aid attended the potluck supper and meeting Friday evening at over $1,000 received toward the purchase of the new bus.

The Acme club sold 100 tickets. Denbrock will go to Ann Arbor Saturday to take part in the state festival of the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association.

The events in which the musicians will compete are: A flute solo by Realpha Hagen with piano accompanist, Carol Johnson; a saxophone quartet, Betty Klumpp, Judy Thomas, Margot Powell and Kathryn Dame. All of these girls qualified for entry in the state festival by winning number one rating at the district festival in Charlevoix last December. The Lions club of which Jack Charter is president will take the varsity basketball team to see the state basketball finals in East Lansing Saturday. They will be taken down in Individual cars. The "Invest a dollar" project by the Northport Civic club has netted $1,325.47 to date.

This will be given to the Leelanau Memorial hospital fund. More money is expected to be turned in by. members not present at the club meeting last Tuesday. A final counting will be made Friday. Mr.

Robert Kopietz ot Lakeview Road left for Detroit last Friday due to the critical illness of his mother, Mrs.
