The Eagles' activities on Mothei's Day began 47 years ago, when the late Frank Henng made the first public plea for national observance in an address, on Feb.

The idea of Mr. Hering, who later become the Eagles' national president, was encouiag- ed by the Grand Arie which placed Mother's Day upon the Eagles' calendar for observance by all Aeries long before there was general recognition of the event.
