Phinney. The bridegroom was graduated from Mitchell High School in 1959 and attended Southern State Teachers College in Springfield. He is employed with the Hoist Motoring Co. in Pierre. The newlyweds are residing in Pierre at Rigg's Trailer Court.

Wa-Tan-Ye Club Has Fund Raising Party The first dinner meeting of the current season of the Wa-Tan-Ye Club in the Ruby Ann Cafe Monday evening was followed by a gathering in the home of Miss Josephine Weatherer. Mrs. W.H. Hays presided at a short business session. Miss Wea- therer, fiance committee chairman, arranged a program of varied entertainment, slated to raise funds for the organization.

Duplicate Bridge Club Plans New October Series A new series game is being scheduled for the Mitchell Duplicate Bridge Club, announcement made at the meeting Tuesday eve ning in the Elks Club. Beginning Oct. 3 and rnnning through Oct. 31, members who wish to participate will play three of the games with different partners with four of five scores being tallied. Members who do not wish to participate may play their regular partners.

15 at the home of Mrs. Edwin Forst. Mrs. Carl Priedrich was named vice chairman and Mrs. Lloyd Tamblyn the secretary treasurer.

After the meeting the hostess served refreshments. Mrs. M. A. Zink and Miss Sharon Grabinski were guests.

The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Percy Newcomer. Plan Food Sale The Sunny Sue Extension Club met at the home of Mrs. Geo. Wolting the afternoon of Sept.

15. The new officers were in charge of the meeting, namely chairman, Mrs. Boyd Wright, vice chairman, Mrs. Robert Burchfield, treasurer, Mrs. Henry secretary and reporter, Mrs.

Ernest Scott. It was voted to have a sale of food, hand made articles and lunches Nov. 18 as benefit for ie Senior Citizens Home. Piano Teacher Has Dinner For Students By Republic News Service File was hostess at a buffet dinner Sept. 11 at the home of her parents, Mr.

and Mrs. P. L. Flte, for her piano students and their parents. After dinner she presented the pupils in a recital.

Participating were Barbara, David and Claudia Halgrimson, Brenda Spears and Kathy Brown. Paula and Pame- 1 la Fite played and sang several selctions. The latter received gifts from her pupils. Parents present were Mr. and Mrs.

Charles Halgrimson, Mr. and Mrs. Max Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Spears and Mrs.

C. A. Alison, grandmother of the Halgrimson children. Farewell Parly Mr. and Mrs.

Gordon Garnos were honor guests at a farewell party the evening of Sept. 6 by members of the senior choir of The American Lutheran Church. Mr. Garnos has been director of the choir for the last two years while the junior choir has been under the direction of Mrs. Garnos.

They and their young son, William, left Sept. 9 for Vermlllion where Mr. Garnos will continue his studies at the University of South Dakota. Mrs. Garnos has a position in the University library.

The Garnoses own and operate the Cestrian Drive Inn at Presho during the summer months. Joint Potluck Supper Mrs. J. E. Falton, Tucson, was honored guest when the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary held a Joint pot luck supper the evening of Sept.

6 at the Legion Auditorium. Mrs. Palton was one of the early members of the Auxiliary. Rosella Krier, Girls Stater, and Gary Jackson, Boys Stater, gave their reports. Discussion was held on the district fall conference scheduled at Dallas on Oct.

5. Mrs. Victor Young, district president, gave a resume of the program planned. Legionnaires accepted an invitation to have lunch with the auxiliary after their separate meetings, the first Wednesday of each month. Coffee was served at the close of the meeting.

Three Mitchell girls have been pledged to Alpha Rho chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta, social sorority at the University of South Dakota. They are, Cheryl Baldwin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Baldwin; Sheila Lalley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

James Lalley, and Carol Wiblemo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Wiblemo. Another wedding taking place recently was that of Miss Connie Leanne Wilson, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Carroll Wilson, and Ken Marlee Skillingstad, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Skillingstad, in the Church of the Nazarene. The bride attended Mitchell High School.
