Louis Dan, a blue-blooded setter, owned by Peter S. Duncan, of Sunset Hill, captured the second prize at the sportsmen's dog show, held this week at Penfield Clearfield county. The first honor was taken by Sir Roger De Covey, a Philadelphia dog. There were sixty blooded dogs in the contest from Pittsburg, Philadelphia, Buffalo and other places and Mr. Duncan was very well pleased to see his dog take second place in such high class company.

This was a meeting of the Pennsylvania Field Trial club, which was held at Pen-field on account of being a good grouse country. A number of highbred animals were given exhaustive trials among the grouse coveys, followed by the judges and many interested sportsmen, and all the canines did excellent work, the best dogs being given prizes. The dog show was held at night. The judges were J.J. Beecherd, Honesdale; D.
