The Hollidaysburg Motor Car club held an interesting and enthusiastic meeting in the Hollidaysburg club parlors last evening. W. I. Woodcock, the president, presided, and several live topics of concern to the auto fraternity and the cause of good roads were discuseed. The consensus of opinion was that the unsightly billboards at Baker Station, on the Logan Valley railway, and the high fence erected by the Pennsylvania aRilroad company along the South Altoona end of the Forty-first street bridge are danger spots, where The annual convention of the Blair County School Directors' association will be held at the court house on Thursday and Friday, February 20-21.

Life, Health and Accident Insurance. Surety Bonds. Tire, fM mwvmHMMwvvmmHViM awvwvvwwvwvv i The Mishler theatre for this afternoon and tonight and tomorrow afternoon and night has a distinctive attraction of extraordinary interest to everybody in the farewell appearance of Mrs. General Tom Thumb and large company of Liliputians. Mrs.

Thumb is one of the most of living American women and has a career longer before the public than any living woman today. She made a world's tour with her noted husband, General Tom Thumb, when people who are grandparents now were children. Everybody, and especially all children, should see this entertainment because it is the farewell appearance so far as concerns Altoona. In the company are General Tom Thumb, her husband, Count Magri, and his brother, Baron Magri, also other prominent liliputians and vaudeville performers in a big high class elite vaudeville program. Mrs.

Thumb of course is the centre of attraction and this courteous woman is very pleasing and never fails to respond happily to the evident appreciation her audience. The entire performance is one of merit from beginning to end and will doubtless draw large crowds during the engagement at the Mishler. Mrs. Tom Thumb and those with her at the conclusion of the matinee and evening performances will meet and talk with every, man woman and child who cares to speak with her on this her final appearance before the public. MULCH BROTHERS 1 AND HOT-WATER HEATING HOLLIDAYSBURG PENN A accidents must sooner or later occur, on account of the obstructions to the line of vision of the road travelers. The question of repairing the Blair township public road lying between Bald hill and the borough limits was discussed and it was decided to take the question up of improving this portion of the highway with the county commissioners and state highway department. Dr. Sam. uel C.

Smith was unanimously chosen as the local correspondent 'of the American Motorist The good work" accomplished by the county com. misstoners and State Highway Engineer Charles S. Lemon on the Turkey Valley public road, the road running from Gaysport to Cresson, and the Altoona Driving Park road, was warmly commended. There have been a number of recent acquisitions to the club membership. Definite plans of work are being mapped out for the coming spring and summer under the club auspices.

Edward C. Bishop, of Altoona, and Zeta Mae Long, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Long, estimable residents of Berwyn White, were married at the Methodist Episcopal parsonage, 316 South Wayne street, by the Rev. George Franklin Boggs, last night at 8:15.

Mr. Walter E. Lindsay, the big-hearted friend of the poor and needy, yesterday gave a candy treat to the 110 inmates of the county home and the 250 patients in the Blair county hospital. There was a meagre attendance of militiamen at the Walnut street armory last evening to greet Major J. A.

Hendler and Major A. S. Stayer. The signs indicate that unless there is soon a shakeup in local military circles an order will be issued for the disbandrnent of company Tenth regimgnt, and for the first time in thirtythree years Hollidaysburg will lose its representation in the State National Guard. Only three residents of Hollidaysburg now belong to the company.

One of the principal officers has sent in his resignation tp the adjutant general. The company will not attend the president's inauguration in March. Alfonso Martino, who was sentenced by Judge Baldrige to undergo imprisonment of not less than sixteen years nor more than twenty years in the western penitentiary for second degree murder, was taken to that institution by Sheriff W. H. Orr yesterday.

The attorneys for the prisoner showed their satisfaction over the verdict of the jury by falling to file any motion in arrest of judgment. The current rumors that the members of the jury had been, guilty of misbehavior at the Capital hotel last week seem to have no foundation in fact. Martin Horning and Jacob B. Daus, prominent citizens of Hollidaysburg, who were members of the jury, indignantly deny that there was any wrongdoing and John E. Kitzinger, the hotel landlord, who was also wrought up by the reports, declares that the jurors behaved with perfect propriety during their stay at his hostelry.

A fine new baby boy arrived at the home of Millard F. Plummer, on Walnut street, yesterday. Court James S. Plummer, the grandpap, walked as spry as a 16-yer-old when he heard the good news. The John E.

"The Angel of the Trail" is the coming atraction at the Mishler theatre on Monday, January 27, matinee and night, and full houses are certain to greet this company, which has been playing to enormous business in every city visited. For laughter and tears skillfully blended, for rollicking good humor, many thrills and dramatic moments, this play of the western country stands without a peer. The story is replete with hu man touches, much natural charm, and appeals to all classes. The company is a capable one, headed by Miss (Nellie Ftanklyn, in the name part of the "Angel," whose charming personality finds an echo of good cheer In the hearts of her auditors. Musical numbers are introduced as well as vaudeville acts by the large and efficient company, and Miss Franklyn's pimble dancing always captures the house.
