8-MILFORD (UTAH) NEWS THURSDAY, JULY 3, MRS. MILTON H. POOL DECORATES INTERESTING WINDOW One of the most interesting features of last week's Centen-1 nial celebration was the "anal tique" window in the M. H. Pool store on Main Street.

Arranged by Mrs. Pool. It contained a very interesting collection of family heirlooms and relics of pioneer days. The following were ineluciec In the display: An old iron smelter ladle and mortar owned by Mr. Jack WilLiams' father.

An account book of Joseph R. Murdock's grandfather. who owned a shingle mill, and brought the first threshing mo chine to Beaver County in 1860. Mr. Murdock, it is related seed grain to the farmthe usual bushel ers, receiving of grain in the fall for each peck loaned in the spring.

A table and picture belonging to Mr. Pool's grandparents. The was of the Pool farm, picture painted about 1874. The land grant for the farm was signed 1862 by President Chester A. in Arthur, An early historical record owned by W.

H. Chipman, father of Mrs. Pool, written by Andrew Jensen, Utah Customan. A pair of salt and pepper shakers belonging to Mrs. Dan K.

Barton of Greenville. A portrait of Candice DeWitt, mother of Mrs. Mary Workman. Beaded jacket and chiffon neckpiece, belonging to Mrs. Workman's mother.

A vial of wheat, found in Indian Cave. A rolling pin made by Mr. Ashworth, grandfather. of Mrs. Lettie Fotheringham, and a muffin tin, made by Mr.

Ashworth. A brass mortar, belonging to Mrs. Ethel Nielsen's mother, and a basque and bonnet worn by Mrs. Nielsen's grandmother. Two pictures in black and A PLEASANT evening was had by the Big Four Bridge club Wednesday evening, when they met at the home 10 of Mrs.

Garnet Garfield. Prizes were won by Mrs. Eva Banks, high points, Mrs. Wanda Holm, honors and Mrs. Anne.

JAMES MERWYN HANDLEY YOUTHFUL HORSEMAN WINS PRAISE AT RACES Assistant Judge James Merwyn Handley, 7- year-old son of Bud and Lucille Handley, was the focal point of hundreds of pairs of eyes during the recent race meet when the youngster, mounted on a fullgrown, beautiful bay horse. relayed messages at full gallop from the turn-judge stand at the first turn, where his dad was of ficiating, to the judges' stand in front of the grandstand. An excellent horseman, even at such a tender age, and attired in full regalia, even including a miniature-sized larlat, he won the hearts of the race fans with his businessiike attention to his duties. On opening day, Thursday, young James Merwin was chosen to lead the Milford race meet queens before the grandstand for their introduction.
