The adaptation of "What Makes Sammy Run," has been written by Budd Schulberg and his brother, Stuart Schulberg. "What Makes Sammy Run?" the story of Sammy GUck who rises from a dog-eat-do slum on New York's lower East side to become a copy boy on a big metropolitan newspaper. Before he's 20, he works his way up to radio columnist. Then, with the help of a stolen manuscript, he lands a Job as a Hollywood writer.

Oct. 2 P. Bennye Gatteys Scoring Ilil In 'Time Remembered' Musical comedy star Larry BJyden has been signed to star in "What Makes Sammy a two-part dramatization of Budd Schulberg's novel on the NBC-produced "Sunday Showcased i colorcast series, Sep't. 27 and Oct. 4.

Blyden, who is currently starring on Broadway as Sammy Fong in "The Flower Drum Song," will portray the brash climber Sammy Glick In the dramatization of the hard-hitting 1940 novel depicting the rise of a Hollywood movie czar.
