Victor Herbert's If all the world loves a lover it is doubly sure that all the playgoing public of this city will love "Sweethearts" the Victor Herbert operetta, which comes to the Academy of Music next Wednesday giving a matinee and night performance.

Music lovers will revel in a torrent of Herbertian melody which will flow from the bell -like voice of charming Julia Gifford who is being featured in this work of the master composer. The story which Harry B. Smith and Fred de Gresac have interwoven with, the Herbert's melodies, concerns Sylvia, a lost Princess, who was taken from her home in war times and left in a tulip garden, where she is found by Dame Paula, a laundress. She grows up as Paula's adopted daughter and finally, a prince and heir presumptive comes awooing. It appears that Sylvia had been spirited away by a person who later comes to the laundry of the White Geese, conducted by Dame Paula to ferret out the mystery of Sylvia's existance.

As usual, in all fairy stories the wooing prince has many obstacles thrown in his path to prevent him from marrying beneath his station, until it is proven later that Sylvia was of equal birth with him and then everyone is hfippy, as the curtain falls with the lovers in a fond embrace. A capable company will support Miss Gifford and it includes Leo Stark in the leading comedy role, and a beauty chorus that can really sing. The matinee prices will be from 50 cents to $1.50. The night prices will range from 75 cents to $2. Tickets will go (Continued on Page Five.) Matinee and Night, Saturday, Dec.
