Masrnolia is a village of recent growth, and is proverbial fkr health. It is situated on the Wilmington Jk eioon uaii Kpad, about midway between Wilmington and Goldsboro', and contains a number of handsome and tastefully arranged residences, a large and well constructed church, (M. and three good stores.

As evidence of the liberality, enterprise, and intelligence of the citizens, they have erected a College building at a coBt of six or seven thousand dollars. This building is located at a sufficient distance from the railroad and depot, to be out o' reach of me noise and excitement: produced Dy toe passing or tn trains. The Male and Female departments will be conducted separately; in different apartments, conveniently fitted up for that purpose in the College. The studies pursued ia both departments will be such as are best calculated to de-velope the minds of the pupils; and the instruction in all cases, wm be thorough. Particular attention will be paid to ue moral training or pupils.

The course of instruction pursued in the Female department will embrace all the branches, both solid and ornamental, usually taught in the best Female Seminaries. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that application will be made to the Commissioner of Pensions for a duplicate of land warrant for eighty acres, numbered 31,316, issued to John BarnhiU, private in Captain: 's company of North Carolina Militia in the war of 1812. Ihe original warrant Was issued under the Act of Con gress, passed Sept. 28th, 1850, and was lost some time during the year 185 on its transmission by mail from the Commis-sioner-of Pensions, to the undersigned, agent for the claimants.
