16. The Gazette and Daily, York, COUNTY Morning, June 22, 1949 Badges Awarded To Cub Scouts Cub Scout Pack 24, recently organized at New Freedom, now has three dens. New Freedom Members of Cub Scout Pack 24-meeting Monday evening in the local community hall-received Bob Cat badges and learned that two more dens have been added to one pack, which was organized recent at this place. The personnel of the three dens follows: Den No. 1.

Mrs. A. W. Reed, den mother; 4 Red, den dad; John Bulcken, den chief; Michael Reed, Dennis Jones, Rodney Sides and Ronald Wolf. Den No.

Mr. and Mrs. William S. Grove, Flushing N. were week-end guests of the former's parents, Mr.

War Dead Returned LT. HANNIGAN The bodies of two countiansFirst Lt. Dale V. Hannigan and Clarence E. Weible- are among those being returned from the Pacific for reburial in the United States.

1st: Lt. Dale V. Hannigan First Lt. Dale V. Hannigan, 25, husband of Mrs.

Fern M. Hannigan, 11 Taylor avenue, Red Lion, was killed Sept. 1, 1945, in an explosion and crash of a fourmotored rescue plane, in which he was a pilot, near New Guinea. Lt. Hannigan, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Walter Hannigan, Felton, was graduated from Red Lion High school, class of 1937, and also from Thompson's Business college, York. He was employed in the office of the Hallam Furniture company before being inducted into the Army Feb. 17, 1942. He trained with the infantry at Fort Meade, and Camp Wheeler, before attending Officers' Candidate school at Fort Benning.

ard being commissioned Oct. 12, 1942. Later he trained at Camp Dorn, and then transferred to the Air Corps. He took flight training at these places: Nashville. Maxwell field, Americus, Greenwood, Columbus, Gulfport.

Tampa, and Hunter field, Ga. He was sent overseas July 16, 1945 and was based on New Guinea. His body was interred in a cemetery at the village of Merauke, Dutch New Guinea. Besides his wife and parents, he leaves a daughter, Nina, and these brothers and sisters: John Hannigan, Red Lion, and Paul, Richard, Earl, Ruth, Reba and Walter Hannigan, all at home. He was a member of St.

James' Lutheran church, near Brogueville. Clarence E. Weible Clarence E. Weible was 24 years old when he was killed April 30, 1945, while in action Hametown Class Plans For Pageant Of Brides with the 306th Inf. of the 77th Division on Okinawa.

A native Philadelphian, and a former resident of Stewartstown, he was the son of Frederick George Weible, an instructor at Admiral Farragut Naval Academy, Pine Beach, N. J. and the late Anna Mary Weible. He enlisted April, 1942, at Newark, trained at Camp Jackson S. and was sent overseas in April 1943.

He was a graduate of the Elkton, High school.
