For Your Information: Dear friends, When you visit the bereaved, they' may tell you about their feelings of guilt, about family problems. They may defend their own conduct. "I should have visited Mother more, but my job keeps me too busy." "I was very strict with my son, but I only did it to protect him." Often abject grief is produced by this kind of guilt. Do not practice amateur psychiatry. Just be an understanding listener.

Respectfully, JOHN F. HILL funeral Homs 103 S. FRALEY ST. 837-7575 The Kane Republican, Saturday, June 11, 1977-3 Musical Sermon to Be Given Sunday The Senior Choir of the Tabor Lutheran Church of Kane will present a musical sermon, "Sing Praise to God," on Sunday, June 12 at 10:15 a.m., under the direction of Robert H. Johnson.

The Lutheran church rejoices in her rich heritage of sacred music, back into the early and medieval church and renewed with music by Martin Luther and Johann Sebastian Bach. Congregational singing of hymns and the singing of the liturgy are further witnesses to the Lutherans' love of quality music. The Tabor Senior Choir, accompanied by Miss Signe Nordgren at the organ, will sing "Come, Jesus, ly Son of God" by George F. Handel and arranged by the contemporary composer, Hal Hopson, Lord Most High, With All My Heart" by Mozart; "My Eternal King" by Jane Marshall, and "Even Me" by John C. For the offertory the choir will sing Gordon Young's "Now Let Us All Praise God and Sing." The trained seal's nightly aquatic shows have attracted such big crowds that town officials required Andre's trainer to hire a traffic officer. Officials said they feared that an ambulance would be unable to reach the waterfront in the event of an emergency.

"It's so crowded sometimes that it would be impossible for an ambulance to get within 150 yards of the place," said Selectman Albert F. Bird. Crowds of 250 or more have assembled near Andre's pen for the 20- minute shows and the summer tourist season is yet to begin. Catholics. Sex By GEORGE W. CORNELL AP Religion Writer NEW YORK (AP) While debate heated up on the new Roman Catholic study on sexuality and its rejection of some codified Church taboos, its compilers pointed out that it also sets definite guidelines itself for even higher, personal sexual ideals. Taking a positive view, the study says sex is meant to "foster a creative growth toward integration," adding that this capacity is impaired by tendencies to look on sex in a "furtive, disassociated way." "Christians must therefore be encouraged to embrace their sexuality joyfully and in full consciousness," says the book-length study, "Human Sexuality: New Directions in American Catholic Thought." Already, even before its official publication date June 24 by Paulist Press, the study's challenging of Church prohibitions against contraception, artificial insemination and various other practices has touched off controversy.

More of it is inevitable, editorializes the Catholic diocesan weekly, the Brooklyn Tablet, urging people to read the full report "before you Actually, its main difference is a "personalist" approach to sexual ethics based on particular circumstances and conscience, rather that the traditional Catholic "objectivist" approach, specifying certain acts a as always immoral. Noting that the new "personalist" approach is becoming widespread among contemporary theologians, whose views the study synthesizes, the Tablet says the contrast is "more in theory than in practical advice." "The pastoral and moral evaluation of many particular situations is often virtually the same, although rationales differ," the Tablet observes. The four-year study was compiled by a committee of the Catholic Theological Society of America, which neither approved nor disapproved it in authorizing its publication. Drawing on insights about sex from the Bible, from the Church's teaching heritage and from contemporary findings of social and behavioral sciences, the study offers seven criteria for wholesome sex activity, including: no A -That it is "self-liberating neither fearful nor Das anxious but rather genuinely expressive of one's authentic self." -That it is "other enriching," giving expression "to a generous interest and concern for the well-being of the other." -That it is "honest," expressing "openly and candidly and as truthfully as possible the depth of the relationship that exists between people." -That it is "faithful," characterized by "a consistent pattern of interest and concern that can grow ever deeper and -That it is "socially responsible," giving expression "not only to individual relationships but in a way also reflects the relationship of the individuals to the larger -That it is "life-serving," respecting the "intimate relationship between the 'creative' and the 'integrative' aspects." -That it is "joyous," giving witness to "exuberant appreciation of the gift of life and mystery of love." a ADMIT MISSIONARIES' LINK WITH THE C.I.A. Senate committee says that the Central Intelligence Agency has acknowledged that it had "covert arrangements" with 21 missionary workers overseas, but these contacts have been terminated. The CIA has stated that as a "matter of policy" hereafter, it will not have any "contractual relationship" with any American clergyman or missionary, under new regulations forbidding use of missionaries by the intelligence agency. the illustrated BIBLE A Soldier's Blunt Faith 1977 SUTH "But say the word and my servant will be cured." Luke 7: 7 Soldiers have always been known for one chief characteristic in Featu addition to their fortitude and courage: that is their bluntness. From the plain talk of Shakespeare's captains in Henry to Gen. Anthony McAuliffe's "nuts" at Bastogne, military candor has been remembered and celebrated. So, in this story of Jesus, it is the centurion's blunt faith that is the focus. Hearing of Jesus, the old soldier, a devout man, sends a request that he come and save a valued servant's life.

But it is not necessary, he reasons, for Jesus to corne in person. Just as he commands his troops, both giving and receiving orders, so he believes can the Messiah command the healing of his servant. In admiration, Jesus exclaims "Nowhere have I found faith like this," and the servant is restored to health. Next Week LIFE OR DEATH OH MY LORD?.
