Willard D. Akard 111 since July 2, Willard D. Akard. 19, 160 E. Poston Road, died at Monday.Aug.

28, 1989, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. His death resulted from injuries received when a homemade pipe bomb exploded in his face. Born June 15, 1970, in Martinsville, he was the son of James E. and Deloris F. Hayden Akard.

He had spent all his life in Morgan County. A graduate of Martinsville High School, he was employed with Wells Construction in Martinsville. He was a member of the Morgan Street Church of Christ. Surviving besides the parents are a brother, William L. Akard, serving with the Marines in North Carolina: a sister, Roxanne D.

Akard, at home in Martinsville: and grandparents, Willard and Grace Hayden ofWilbur and Daisy and Clarence Schoolcraft of Martinsville. Randall Jones will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Thursday funeral at. Neal Summers Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in New South Park Cemetery.

Dye. the daughter of Omer and Emma Mueller Doty, was bom Sept. 20, 1908, In Indianapolis. On Oct. 12, 1935.

she married Wilbur Dye. who preceded her In death on May 12, 1969. A self-employed real estate broker for 33 years, she retired in 1986. Following retirement she did private income tax preparation. A graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis.

Mrs. Dye she was a member of the Mooresville First United Methodist Church, the Morgan County Board of Realtors and a 50-year member of the Mooresville Order of Eastern Star. The 1 p.m. Thursday funeral will be at Carlisle Son Funeral Chapel at Mooresville. The Rev.

John Dickey will officiate. Burial willfollow at Washington Park East Cemetery at Indianapolis. Friends may call 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. There will be an Eastern Star memorial service at 7 p.m.

Wednesday. Mary E. McConnell The funeral for Maiy Emily McConnell. 99, Bloomington, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greene Harrell Mortuary in Bloomington.

27, 1989, at the Morgan County Memorial Hospi-( tal. BomNov. 15, 1889, inBloom-ington, she was the daughter of Frank N. and Zera V. Denton Johnson.

She married John F. McConnell, who preceded her In death in April 1956. She was a retired chicken and sheep farmer. The last living charter member of the Our Day Out Home Demonstration Club, which began in 1929, she was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bloomington. Survivors include one stepson, Lloyd McConnell of Bloomington; two great-nieces.

Opal Norene Sanders of Martinsville, and Patricia. Goss of Gosport; several stepgrandchildren and several stepgreat-grandchildren. In addition to the husband, three sisters, Mildred Johnson, Kathryn Levitt and Norene Kraft, and a stepdaughter, Estelle Snow, also preceded her in death.
