Werden, 96, of 610 Alden Springfield, former Pittsfield resident, died Saturday at her home. Born In Amenia, N.Y., she had lived In this city most of her life before moving to Springfield a few years ago. Miss Werden was the last remaining member of the committee that founded Morningside Baptist Church. Graveside services were held this afternoon in Pittsfield Cemetery. The Rev.

Carrol A. Turner, pastor of Momingside Baptist Church, officiated. Lawrence M. Andrus Lawrence M. Andrus 65 of 41 Grove St.

died at his home yesterday after a long illness. Born in Troy, he operated a garage and service station in Blossburg. before moving here some years ago. Mr. Andrus was formerly general manager of Haddad's Motor Sales.

He and his wife, the -former Hannah Cleveland, observed their 28th wedding anniversary in April. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Lawrence H. of this city; and two sisters, Mrs. Willis Spalding of Blossburg and Mrs. William Benson of Columbia Cross Roads, Pa.

PHONE 442-9674 442-2206 Herman Fiddelke SANDISFIELD Herman Fiddelke, 63, of Dodd Road died Saturday afternoon at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center. Born in Germany, on March 28, 1908, he was the son of Henry and Ellese Vederaneyer.

Fiddelke. He moved here recently from Melville, N.Y., where he had operated a delicatessen. Mr. Fiddelke was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Huntington St a tio N.Y., and of the AMT Verderner.

of Garden City, N.Y. Mr. Fiddelke leaves his wife, the former Anna Marie Brims; two sons, Norman H. of Melville and Ivan H. Fiddelke of Sandisfield; a brother, Fritz Fiddelke in Germany; a sister, Mrs.

Dora Haider of New York City, and five grandchildren. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the Stevens Funeral Home, Great Barrington. Burial will be in Sandisfield Center Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be today from 2 to and 7 to 9 pm.

Matthew Nolan Matthew Nolan, 78, a patient at the Springside Nursing Home for the past nine years, died Friday night at Hillcrest Hospital. He was formerly assistant manager of the wood Hotel. Born in Fitchburg, Mr. Nolan Lad been in the hotel business for many years. For 14 years he was associated with the Richmond-Wellington Hotels in North Adams and the Clinton in Springfield.

His other service in. eluded the Worthy in field, the Davenport Hotel, Stamford, the Ritz-Carlton, New York City and the Hotel Touraine, Boston. He also saw service at the Roger Smith Hotel in Holyoke. Mr. Nolan came to the Wendell-Sherwood in 1956.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. There are no known survivors. Friends may call at the Dwyer Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 9. The funeral will be tomorrow morning at 8:30 from the funeral home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St.

Joseph's Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. LEE Nicholas P. Civello, 42.

of 153 Doreen Pittsfield, was killed Saturday night when his car broke in two as it struck a large maple tree on Route 7, just south of Foxhollow School. Police said he was traveling south about 9:30 in a 1968 two. door Pontiac sedan when he failed to make a slight turn about 1,500 feet south of the Summer Street intersection. Police said the car apparently skidded across the road and struck the tree tear the caes right front door on the passenger side. The car was severed on Impact.

Lee and Lenox firemen cut the roof off the sedan with a gasoline-powered rescue saw to remove the driver. Mr. Civello was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical examiner, Dr. Carl A. There were no passengers.

Born in Pittsfield, Mr. Chen was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was employed by the General Electric Co. for the past 20 years. He was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and a member of the Eagles.

Besides his wife, the former Marie Carnute, he leaves his mother, Mrs. Mary Civello of Pittsfield; two sons, Mark A. Kenneth W. Ti lbe GREAT BARRINGTON Kenneth W. Tilbe, 61, of 22 Railroad died yesterday at Fairview Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Danbury, on Jan. 1, 1910, Mr. Tilbe was the son of the late William and Anna Panasis Tilbe. He had been employed as a chef in local restaurants for many years. Mr.

Ube leaves two daughters in Norwalk, Conn. two brothers, Nicholas and George, both of Danbury, and five sisters, Mrs. Jesse Watts of Brewster, N.Y., Mrs. John Lewis of Madison, Mrs. Paul Sikeris of Bethany, and Mrs.

Joseph Moscone and Mrs. Lawrence Ward, both of Danbury. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the Birches Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Glahn, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Water Street Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Mrs. E. Toomey Mrs.

Elizabeth M. Toomey, 90, a former Pittsfield resident, died Sunday at the Franklin Nursing Home, Greenfield. She was the widow of Dr. Michael H. Toomey.

Born in Greenfield, the daughter of Cornelius and Mary Hanrahan O'Keefe, she was formerly chief operator of the New England Telephone Co. there. Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Toomey was night toll operator at the Pittsfield telephone office and later was operator at Pittsfield General Hospital. After her retirement, she returned to Greenfield Mr.

Toomey leaves four nephews, the Rev. Thomas S. Hanrahan, pastor of St. Ann's Church, Lenox, George C. and John E.

Moore of Greenfield and Thomas J. Moore of Billerica. Friends may call at the McCarthy Funeral Home, Greenfield, tonight from 7 to 9. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated tomorrow morning at 9 at, Holy Trinity Church, Greenfield, by Father Hanrahan. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery there.

William Morey, Retired Florist RICHMOND William E. Morey, 83, died Saturday at the Edgecombe Nursing Home, Lenox. A native of Shrewsbury, he spent most of his life there. He was a well-known horticulturist and operated his own florist business in Shrewsbury for many years, retiring in 1958. He moved to Bennington, for 10 years, coming to Richmond three years ago.

Mr. Morey had been active in the Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Department, was a member of the Society of American Florists, former member of the Boston Flower Exchange, a life member of the Worcester Horticultural Society and a member of the New England Carnation Growers Association. He was a member of the United Church of Christ, Congregational. He and his wife, the former Ethel Bement, observed their 57th wedding anniversary June 9. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Miss Barbara L.

Morey, state bookmobile librarian, and Miss Violet E. Morey, both of Richmond; a son, Kenneth H. of Framingham; a sister, Mrs. Winnie B. Howland of Montclair, N.J.; and two granddaughters.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 at the United Ohurch of Christ, Congregational. The Rev. Robert A. Knowles, pastern will off Rurial will be in Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the family home, Route 295, at their DAVID A.

Mrs. Marchisio was a communicant of Mount Cannel Church and a member of the Golden Age Club and Senior Citizens Center. She leaves seven brothers, Henry, Eugene, Mario, Michael J. and Ferdinand E. of Pittsfield, John B.

of Dalton and William S. of Richmond; and five sisters, Mrs. Norma Balardini, Mrs. Michael Principe, Mrs. Milo Testa and Mrs.

Anthony all of this city, and Sister Mary Camilla of the Daughters of Our Lady of Mercy, York, Pa. Friends may call at the Bencivenga-Dagnoll Funeral Home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Oct- 24, 1920, Mrs. Louizou was the daughter of Mr.

Bright and the late Helen Ketcham Bright. She attended public schools in floral Park, N.Y., and Eastman School of Music, and graduated from Katharine Ribbs School. Mrs. Louizou was a member of the U.S. Navy WAVES during World War II, after which she served six years with the CIA in Athens, Greece, then two years with Radio Free Europe.

For the past 10 years, she was a secretary with the Boise Cascade Co. in New York. Besides, her fahter, Mrs. Louizou leaves a brother, Robert Bright Jr. of Hartsdale, N.Y.

Ile was employed by the Arnold Print Works in Adams, retiring a year ago. Mr. Cardinal was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and St. Francis' Church. His wife, the former Celia M.

Palcik, died last year. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. James McDonald of Selden, N.Y.; a son, Alfred Cardinal of Great Barrington, and a sister, Mrs. Lucy Booth of Clarksburg. The funeral will be at St.

of Route 8, Winsted, died early this morning at the English-Shell Service Station, where he was working. A native of Otis, he spent most of his life here and was employed tor many years as a driver for the former Berkshire Street Railway and the Wa non Bus Service of Hinsdale. Mr. Langdon retired due to illness in 1961 and since lived in Winsted. He leaves a son, Ralph Langdon of Pittsfield; a daughter, Mrs.

Robert Aitken of Royalton, two brothers, George of Otis and Earl of Grafton; three sisters, Mrs. Howard Pope of Pasadena, Mrs. George Brett of Monterey and Mrs. Lawrence LaRock of Windsor; and six grandsons. Funeral services are Wednesday at 2 at the Kelly Funeral Home, Lee.
