Charge Youth In Fatal Fire PHILADELPHIA (UPI) A teenaged youth has been charged with setting a one- alarm blaze that killed four members of his family, including his crippled mother. The youth, William Kelly, 17, arrested shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday and charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the fire early Wednesday is the city's Kensington section. The fire killed his mother, Florence Hanson, 45; his stepsister, Mary, 14; his aunt, Ann Kelly, 65, who was blind, and her son from a previous marriage, William McNeese, 33.

Kelly's 9-year-old stepbrother, Robert Hanson, was admitted to Pennsylvania Hospital in critical condition with head injuries and smoke inhalation. Police Capt. Malcolm Kachigian, noting the difference in the family names, said: have no idea. But he is her (Mrs. Hanson's) son according to our homicide records." According to police, Kelly apparently spread a flammable liquid on the second and third floors of the three- story home and set a match to it.

Robert sustained his critical injuries by jumping from a third floor window to escape the flames. Kelly also was treated for smoke inhalation at Pennsylvania Hospital and released. The fire was reported just after 6 a.m. Wednesday and brought under control less than an hour later. A neighbor, Diane Winning, 23, told police that she was awakened by two men screaming at the occupants of the house to jump.

The men, Ronald Fisher and Walter Armbruster, tried to catch Robert as he leaped to the sidewalk. "I kept hollering for him to jump," Fisher said. "He seemed scared. Finally be jumped, but the smoke was so bad we missed him. I'm still shook up." According to authorities, the two men apparently were the first to see the blaze and notify the fire department.

"We ran to the house," Fisher said. "We kicked the door in, but we couldn't get anywhere, the flames were so bad." Dies After Flu Shot CAMDEN, N.J.
