St. Luke's Episcopal maintained a two-game advantage in Division with a 62-43 triumph over Covenant UM. "Killer" Kilmoyer (24) had his "hook" shot right on target for the victors, while Greg Paine (18) led Covenant. St. Gertrude's nipped Trinity Lutheran, 59-58, in the closest game of the night as Bill Care (22) paced the winners and Tim Toms (16) headed the losers.

The 76ers pulled away in the second half as Collins, Fred Carter and Billy Cunningham did the important scoring.

Cunningham scored 15 of his 19 points in the third quarter when the 76ers bounced back from a 55-52 halftime deficit. Philadelphia opened up an 11-point lead in the third period and was in front 84-77 entering the last quarter. The 76ers led by as much as 16 points in the final period while winning their third start and seven of their last 10 games. The loss was the fifth in a row for the Suns.
