RYAN BESSEMER Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. for William J. Ryan, 82, pioneer resident who died early yesterday at the Divine Infant Hospital. Services will be solemnized at the St. Sebastian Catholic Church at a requiem High Mass to be celebrated by the Rev.

Any child interested joining the school is invited to attend. The choir of" the Immanuel Lutheran Church will bold a practice- session Tuesday at 7 at the church. Carl E. Nelson is the choir director. New members are invited to join the choir.

The Ladies Aid of the Immanuel Lutheran Church will hold a bake sale at the church Wednesday, Sept. 17 beginning at 11 a.m. at the church. Goodies of all types, nationally known Swedish breads will be featured. The public is ia- vited.

Song services will be held at the Apostolic- Lutheran Church ia Wakefield, Sunday at 7 pjn. The Hancock Wakefield. granted the State Board of Education Scholarship the School year 1958r59. He was graduated, from Wakefield, High School in June. The scholarship was granted from Northern.

Michigan College, Marquette, where Robert is enrolling this fall as a music major, and plans to teach high, school music after graduation. He maintained a high scholastic- record during his four years high, school, and was president of his graduating class. He also served as class vice president during his freshman year, and secretary in his junior year. In the sports activities, he played basketball, football and baseball for one year of each, and played tennis his first three years of high school. Being a member of the Cardinal Ski Club, he also served on the Ski Patrol at Mount Joy in Wakefield last winter.

Having a Junior and Senior Life Saying Certificate and a Red Cross First Aid Certificate, he was employed as life guard at Eddy Park in Wakefield during the summer. Robert was busy during his four years of high school as a member of the Future Teachers of America Club. For two years, he was a member of the Modern Music Masters Honor Society, and was awarded the top Arion Award in Music at the All Honors Assembly. He had the male lead in his senior class play. He was a member of the Conservation Club for two years, in the -High School Chorus, was the editor of the school paper, did photo work on the annual, a member and officer of the High School Photo Club for three years, took a District Superior rating in High School forensics and was a member of the High School Band for four years.

He played drums in various school I functions and social activities, and also played drums and accordion on various programs, winning district and Upper Peainsula honofs on many occasions. Robert is also a member of the Wakefield Immanuel Lutheran Church, and has taken part in several church activities. public is iavited. Church has begun at the Apostolic Luth- eraa Church, with sessions each Sunday at 10 a.m. All children are welcome to attend.

The confirmation class ol the Bethany Lutheran. Church will meet Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church. The church board and the officers of the various organizations Of the Bethany Lutheran Church wiH meet Saturday at p.m. in the church to prepare the- parish program for the year.

All heads of organizations are urged to attend this important meeting. Miss Votesano Finishes Practical Nurse Course WAKEFIELD--Mass Peggy Yal- esano, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richaid Vatesano, Wakefield, was graduated from the School of Practical Nursing at the- Northern Michigan College: of Education, Marquette Thursday at 2 p.m. at the ceremonies held at the college.

Miss Valesano was graduated from Wakefield High School in June 1957 and attended the Practical Nursing; School for a year including, aa eight month training, session at the Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain. Following her graduation she will be employed as Practical Nurge at the Divine Infant Hospital in Wakefield. Attending the graduation exercises on Thursday, were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hichard Valesano and family, Mr.

Louis Adams, and Mrs. Albert Annear. Confirmation Class to Be Organized Saturday R-- Confirmation classes of the Sharon Lutheran Church will be organized Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Students enrolling should be 14 years old in 1958 or in the ninth grade of public school.
