This meeting will have two very important highlights "homecoming" of the Auxiliary to its own club rooms (Thursday being the reopening day of Eagles Aerie), and the observance of Mother's Day as part of the Eagles ritual for Auxiliaries and Aeries is dedicated "to home, to country and to God; and for Womanhood and Motherhood." The Eagles took up the crusade and hi 1914 Congress set aside the second Sunday in May, as National Mother's Day, after Frank Hering of the Eagles made the first public plea for the establishment of a nation-wide Mother's Day.

In Congress, the Eagles have been commended several times for their pioneering efforts for a Mother's Day. Each year, programs are conducted by Eagles throughout the country as memorials to Mothers and the Auxiliary is dedicating Thursday's meeting to Mothers. A special program is being arranged by the Auxiliary president, Mrs. Leno A. Zadra, and entertainment committee a'i man, Mrs.

Arthur Pyykkonen. A portion of the program will include slides of Okinawa, being shown through the courtesy of the Michigan Extension Services. The arrangements for the musical portion have not been completed, but promises to be highly enjoyable. At this meeting, the Auxiliary Mother, Mrs. 'Fred Cummings, will be honored, and gifts of appreciation will be presented other designated classes of mothers who are Auxiliary members.

Heading the business agenda will be further planning for the District 9 meeting at Negaunee, the State Convention at Traverse City in June, and the selecting o'f a delegate to the National Convention at Chicago in August. Mrs. Ida Rajala, Mrs, Karl Knutila and Mrs. Henry Karvonen. The Mature Parent By MRS. MURIEL LAWRENCE Some years I was in a -millinery shop selecting a-new spring hat when two other customers entered.

They were twins elderly women. Though one was thinner than the other, their resemblance was striking. Their clothes were alike, too, even to the carved face in the cameo pins at the throat of the blouses under their 'well-cut navy suits. They sat down on the same bench before a mirror and the stouter one said, "We'd like to see the brown milan sailor in the window;" As she was trying it on, the thinner twin suddenly noticed the gaily flowered tricorne on my table. I nodded to the question in her eyes.

She reached, for it and hastily removing her own hat, placed it on her graying hair. I thought. "How much prettier she looks in than in that old blue beret thing she came in with!" I was smiling at her reflection in the mirror when her sister said, "Take that silly thing off your head this minute, Ella! Do 3'ou want everyone to think you're a fool?" The flowered hat was removed. The stout twin said, "We'll take two of the brown milan sailors, please." I confess that this experience influences my response. to a letter which says, "We have twin boys of four.

Up to now we've dressed them alike. Now their nursery school teacher says it's time to start dressing them differently. I suppose you'd agree. Anyway, we'd like your opinion." My opinion is that playing a lifetime role of double to another person could be a terrible strain. Nobody exactly duplicates another person.

Even identical twins, scientific studies tell us, show distinct differences in personality from birth. While before they were born, these two little boys may have existed halves of the same egg, birth made them into separate people. No twin can chew food for the other one. No twin can digest the food for the other one. Since their bodies refuse total identification, ft seems wise to me Guild Hears Report On MDCCW Meeting The St.
