KEOKUK (Special) Another ball game was written Into the wrong side of the Raider ledger here Wednesday night in the opening game of the Keokuk series which the Indians won, 6-4, on the strength of a three-run rally in the seventh. Ralph Michaels triple on a long fly to right field which Milt Bocek misjudged and barely touched drove three scores home in the seventh against the relief pitching of Johnny Hari. "The most pestiferous fly in the Yanks Take Both Ends Of Twin Bill From Detroit Club BY THE ASSOCIATED FKESS. The Cleveland Indians have been guilty -of some strange inconsistencies this season, but at times it looks as if they might give the league-leading Yankees the best fight for the American league pennant. They shook off a heart breaking blow to split a double-header with Washington yesterday and gain undisputed possession of third place.

Cleveland showed plenty of hitting power in both games, but after building up a 5-0 lead in the opener, was forced to yield 11 to 8, when Thornton Lee blew sky high in the eighth. Undaunted, the Indians went on to win the second game 10 to 5. "The Tigers sought a similar comeback, but after taking a 13 to 3 drubbing from the Yanks in the opener they lost 7 to 6 in the second game. This not only dropped them to fourth but it ended Tommy Bridges winning streak after nine straight mound victories. The Tigers nearly salvaged the game when Charley Gehringer poled a homer and Hank Greenberg followed with another, but Goose Goslin couldnt finish the job.

The Red Sox and Browns divided the third American double bill, Boston winning the opener I to 5 and the Browns taking the "afterpiece 6 to 3. In the National league the Braves and Cubs split the only games that escaped the bad weather. Bob Smith got the better of Lon Warneke to give Boston the first clash 2 to 1. Bill Lee out lasted Huck Betts in the night cap, winning 3 to 0. WESTERN LEAGUE.

It seems almost certain, Mr. Gear said, that difficulties will be cleared up within a few days, and the club will be taken over by Omaha owners now seeking to make1 a satisfactory adjustment of outstanding obligations.

It is definite that the club 'will remain here. Tony Ostronic, employe of "an Omaha newspaper, revealed he held a five-day option on the franchise, voted to him by the league members. Ostronic said he hoped to have a syndicate of local men formed by Monday noon to take over the ownerless club, now being oper- ated by the other league members. With a Georgia hill billy in the opening match and the old orator, George Mack, in the main event, fans at the wrestling show tonight at 8:30 in the Cedar park open air arena are assured of ample entertainment aside from the customary routine of the grunt-and-groan artists. Rube Harben, who comes out of his native hills of Georgia with a deep hatred for those blue-bellied Yankees, reputedly wrestles on a strictly catch-as-catch-can basis with the other fellows chin doing most of the catching. His opponent is one of the Minnesota variety of Yankees and the fur should fly. Nearly every person who has seen wrestling matches in these parts knows how Mack operates, particularly as a windjammer during and after the match. Ordinarily hes a villain but hell have little time for that with Slagel in there dishing out his particular type of mayhem.

Mack is usually good for at least one innovation in the science of wrestling. Nazarian, the Armenian champion, draws another Minnesota man in Freberg who paddles about the ring minus shoes. Although a villain, Nazarian has always proven a crowd pleaser. lips 3, Lee. Two base hit Campbell.
