KURN HATTIN Basketball WESTMINSTER On Jan. 23 the boys basketball team won 54-34 in a march with Charlestown, N.H. At the same time the girls team defeated the Walpole, N.H., team 28-24.

On Wednesday the boys overwhelmed the St. Charles team of Bellows Falls, 78-23. The junior boys teams split their two games with a 34-12 win over the Vilas School team of Alstead, N.H., and a 27-30 loss to the St. Charles team. Boy Scouts WESTMINSTER Some of the older Boy Scouts are training for the first aid merit badge.

Instruction is presented by Ronald Cleveland, printing instructor, who is a member of Brattleboros Rescue Inc. The boys receiving the instruction are James Dougherty, Brian Polito, John Ricard, Michael Rose, and Eric Streeter. Watch Austine Play WESTMINSTER A number of boys, accompanied by Patrick Vondle and Dainard Sanborn of the Kurn Hattin recently saw the Austine School basketball team lose by a narrow margin to the Burke High School team of Dorchester, Mass. Alphonzo Hobbs of Kurn Hattin watched two of his older brothers play for Burke. WESTMINSTER Mary Fullam School Directors WESTMINSTER The Westminster Board of School Directors will consider an amendment to its policy of transportation of pupils at a regular meeting of the board to be held at the Westminster Center School on Wednesday, Feb.

NEWFANE RuthSchreyer Morning Circle NEWFANE The Morning Circle of the First Congregational Church will meet Thursday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. at the church. During the meeting, the membership books will be brought up to date. A salad bar luncheon will follow the meeting.

Church Snowed Out JAMAICA The Community Church service was resumed on Sunday after a forced vacation due to the heavy storms over the past two weeks. It was feared the community would be without service last week, as the accumulation of snow on the church roof came off and pulled the chimney partially over toward the roof. On Saturday, Bruce Ski Trails Opened at Santa Land PUTNEY Robert Brewer, president of Santa's Land, has announced the opening of a cross country skiing facility with groomed trails, ski rentals and instruction.

The ski touring trails are open daily from 9:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sleigh rides are available Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m., other times by CB PROJECT Antonio Condello, president of the Stateline Border Breakers CB Club, presents a check for $400 to Mrs. Helen Penna, administrative director of Linden Lodge. The club raised the money through a Bowl-a-thon at the King Bowling Center, and gave it to Linden Lodge for their van fund. The club has also made donations to Rescue the Winston Prouty Center, and CABA.

The club now has two teams participating in the charity bowl being held monthly at the Brattleboro Bowl. Last month one of their teams tied for first place and donated their share of the winnings ($75) to the Reformer Christmas Stocking. Conn. River Valley hiimiiHTstim. Hiilfnnl.

Putney. Vernon GUILFORD Terry Sprague Fire Dept. Auxilary GUILFORD The Fire Dept. Auxilary in a recent meeting voted to purchase a new refrigrator and chairs for the department hall. They also contributed $1,500 toward the purchase of a radio for the fire department.

The auxilary will meet on Thursday, Feb. 1, at 8 p.m. town clerk's office. This is for the term of Dr. Albert Ranney that expires this March.

Dr. Ranney is not a candidate. Meeting Changed DUMMERSTON The meeting of the school directors will be held Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the West Dummerston School.
