It Kits reported today that an effort may be made at tonight's hearing to reach an agreement upon a reduction In price at which milk Is sold at retail with the proposed reduction being at least two a quart which would bring the price down to the 10 cents a quart retail figure that prevailed when a two-cent Increase was la- vored a little more than a year ago and following a hearing put lino effect by the Milk Control board. It was further reported today that some milk dealers have even talked of seeking an even greater reduction in the price of milk than two cents with the new retail price then becoming eight or nine cents a quart.

Softball Game Kissel's Dry Goods teajn won its first softball game of the season, defeating Swlstak's Ballroom by the score of 14 to 11, Amateur Night Program Given at Theater "Amateur night" was observed at the Adams theater last night. It was the first in a aeries of such event! planned (or Tuesday evenings and wsa much enjoyed by a large sized audience. C. Munroe manager of the theater, acted as master of ceremonies and presented the various acts. Harry Noisier Ing acted as piano accompanist for those requiring such accompaniment.

There were eight acts and the prize winners were determined on the basis of applause by the audience. First prize went to "Buddy" Ferguson of double totte wliinliei. with second going to the Three Rhythm Maniacs of Adams, musical entertainers and third going to Chesbro and Scarfonl of North Adams, who rendered selections on an electrical Hawaiian guitar, others who took part In the program were: Miss Marjorie Reynolds of PHUsfleld, impersonator; George Robinson of North Adams, singing and dancing; Hussey and Blair of North Adams, songs and tap dancing; John and Catherine Begala of North Adams, singing and tap dancing, and the licosac Valley Ramblers of Adams. Luce Tel. Cummlnglon n-IS Service Largely Attended The church service at the Congregational church was largely attended Sunday morning. Several adjoining towns were represented. The church loolts very nice with i(s new decorations and the lovely spring flowers edded to the beauty and filled the air with sweer fragrance. Memorial Day Exercises The Memorial day exercises held here Monday were largely attended.

Dinner was served to over 150 people. The weather was ideal and people came to the hills from far and near. The afternoon exercises at the church were much enjoyrd. The play given by members of the Grange In the evening was a success and there was a good attendance. The variety hour was also much enjoyed.

Kolb of Holtsville. N. wax also fined fO, but his One was suspended and he was placed on probation for six months when their continued cases came before Judge Israel Ruby in district court yesterday afternoon for disposition. The cases were heard last week at which time Woods was found guilty of operating a motor vehicle negligently so that the lives and safety of the public might be endangered and Kolb was found guilty of allowing an improper person to operate his car. Both young men are students at Williams.

The cases resulted from an accident In Adams road early on the morning of May 22d when a car operated by Woods, who was driving under Kolb's license, with the latter sitting besides him, struck a machine operated by William Georginl of Adams. Both defendants pleaded not guilty when their cases came up for hearing last Tuesday. Rev. Helen J. Knapp To Lead Study Meeting Rev.
