Thursday, June 22, 1961 Stock Mart Is Easy in Slow Trade NEW YORK (UPD Stocks wen generally easy today in the (lowest trading of the year. Just a few electronics and special situations managed to provide some noticeable tape activity white the great mass of stocks moved sluggingly and slightly Wednesday's closing levels. Transition added more than point after Wednesday's big gain on a variety of rumors. Lockheed rose about on a couple of big following morning heaviness. IBM rose 4 points in the early trades but slumped to a 2 point loss.

THE H4MMOND TIMES THE DOW-JONES industrial average eased slightly mostly because of Du Pont, down nearly and Texaco off about a point or so. Steels, motors and chemicals were dull. The noon Dow Jones stock averages were: Industrial 685.34, off 0.75; rails 140.57, up 0.19; utilities 111.74, off 0.09; stocks 227.71, off 0.13. Vinovich Funeral Will Be Saturday Black and white bunting draped the entrance to East Chicago's central police station today in mourning for Chief Michael Vino- vfch, 57, who died Wednesday. The nation's flag at City Hall flew at half-staff.

Chief wnovich was born in Youngstown, Ohio, and came to East Chicago with las parents at the age of six. In his youth he was a semipro football star with the MRP Boosters of East Chicago and he earned nearly a dozen trophies as an auto racer. HE WAS recognized throughout Indiana as a leader of men and was a past president of Indiana's Association of Chiefs of Police. He was an honorary life member of the Chicago Police Sergeant's a member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Police, East Chicago; a director of the East Chicago Boys Club; president of the Serbian National Federation, Lodge 104, and a member of the Serbian National Defense Council. He belonged to the International Assn.

Joseph Along! Joseph Alongi, 80, of 6315 Madison Hammond, retired em- ploye of American Oil division of Standard Oil died Wednesday at St. Margaret Hospital after a long illness. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at the Huber Funeral Home, 905 W. Chicago East Chicago.

Mr. Alongi formerly resided in East Chicago. He had been a Hammond resident since 1948. Surviving are a son, Sam of Munster; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Leskoskyxo and Miss Carmella Alongi of Hammond; two sisters, Mrs.

Rose Tinagha and Mrs. Josephine Baxa, both of Chicago, and two grandchildren. Mr. Alongi was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, East Chicago, and the Cesare Batista Lodge 27, East Chicago. Yugoslavia Ex-Queen Marie Dies LONDON (AP)--Former Queen Marie of Yugoslavia died today after a prolonged illness.

She was 61. The Yugoslavian royal dynasty was overthrown by Marshal Tito in 1945. At that tune the queen's eldest son. Peter, was the king. although in exile.

QUEEN Marie's husband, King Alexander was assassinated in 1934 in Marseilles by a Croatian, Ante Pavelich. She fled to London in 1941, when the Germans occupied Yugoslavia. She had since lived in seclusion in England. She had been seriously ill--to the point where she was a to speak in recent months. In 1947, Tito stripped the royal family of its citizenship and all royal possessions were confiscated.

Mike Novosel Mike Novosel, 70, of 4837 Carey East Chicago, a retired em- ploye of Metal and Thermit East Chicago, died today at his home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at the Huher Funeral Home, 905 W. Chicago East Chicago. Mr.

Novosel was a member of Holy Trinity Creation Church, East Chicago and the Creation Fraternal Union. VIrs. Edward Cotner Mrs. Edward M. Cotner, 65, of 853 Warwick Hammond, lied unexpectedly today.

She is survived by her husband; wo sons, Richard of Whiting and Herbert of Hobart, four grandsons and a brother, Harry. The explosion was Wednesday night at the Kaiser Aluminum Co plant. 7501 W.

5th Ave. Noble F. Diehl, office manager of the plant, said the explosion from gas trapped in a reduction tube. Extent of damage in the coke calcining plant cannot be determined until the unit is dismantled, he said. Diehl said the location of the damaged unit makes it necessary for the shutdown of the entire plant which employs 1J men.

The plant reduces petroleum coke from Standard (American) Oil Co. Whiting refinery to almost pure carbon for use in electrodes.
