SOUTHTOWN ECONOMIST Morgan Park Card Party On March 17 Mrs. Fred Pilsbury, chairman of the ways and means committee of Morgan Park Junior Woman's club, announces that her committee has been working on arrangements for a card party and fashion show which will be i held on St.

Patrick day, March 17, at 8 p.m., in Ridge park field- house, W. 96th st. and S. Longwood dr. Proceeds will be used for the various philanthropies of the club.

i New Spring styles will be i shown by "Mingea" and modeled by the junior members. Millinery to complete every en- 'sernble will be supplied by. "Mari's House of Hats." The club will meet a week from today at 8:15 p.m. in Trinity Methodist church, W. 99th st.

and S. Winchester ave. Shirley Black, president, will 1 preside. Mrs. Hans Staecker, philanthropy chairman, will introduce John Kamp, principal of the Elim Christian School for Exceptional Children.

Mr. Kamp will further enlighten the group on the subject of the needs the mentally and physically handicapped child and further explain how Elim School teaches and guides them toward a better life. Mrs. Thomas Nissen, drama chairman, will present a one act play, "The Cup of Strength" by Joyce Drake. This is the story of airline passengers -who were marooned in a shack in an uninhabited mountainous region when their plane crashed.

The characters in the drama are Mrs. Kane, a middle-aged women of strong character, played by Mrs. Charles Hillier: Gola Gordan, a singer and dancer, portrayed by Mrs. Bert Hill: Mrs. Marshall, a gold star mother, played by Mrs.

George Ritsos: Mary Lee, a Southern girl, acted by Mrs. Robert Palmer: Kathryn, a beautiful young matron, played by Mrs. Thomas Nissen: Janie. a young girl, portrayed by Mrs. Ernest Soutter and the injured stewardess, played by Mrs.

Celia Odell. This busy drama group, under the direction of Mr. Thomas Nissen, also take part in the Third district mid-winter meeting today where they will give three pantomimes with Mrs. Bert Hill: Airs. Charles Hillier; Mrs.

Ernest Scouttfer and Mrs. Nissen participating. Following the play, "The Cup of Strength," refreshments will be served by the ways and means committee with Mrs. John Erickson in her will be Mrs. Bert Hill; Mrs.

Vern Johanson; Mrs. Charles Reinhold: Mrs. John Spears; Mrs. Harold Wackelin; Mrs. Leonard Zick; Mrs.

Warren Opitz and and Mrs. Irvin Nelson BEVERLY HILLS JUNIOR-Mrs. Robert Guilford, 9150 S. Winchester president of the Hills Junior Woman's club, has announced the club will be one of the hostesses at the mid-whiter meeting of Third district Juniors, IFWC, tomorrow at 8 p.m. in the Roosevelt school, 146th st.

These dolls will be sent to orphanages, schools for the handicapped children and institutions. Mrs. Joseph Liveris, 9112 S. Ada literature and art chairman, will display scrapbooks, workbooks, and activity books made by members of the club. These books will be delivered at Easter to hospitalized children to help them enjoy their hospital stay.

The board directors of the club will meet Monday at 8 p.m. in the home of Mrs. R. M. Leonard, 9756 S.

Wolcott refreshments chairman, will be her co-hostess. Birthday Party In The Hospital Because he couldn't attend a birthday celebration in his honor, representatives of the Englewood Kiwanis club brought a birthday cake with 80 candles on it to the Englewood hospital room of Robert S. Fulsang. Mr. Fulsang, a rnember of the club for 33 years, was 80 years old on Sunday.

On Monday, the Kiwanis members visited him in the hospital and on Tuesday they observed Bob Ful sang Day at their regular meeting at the YMCA.
