British troops seize housing estate from IRA BELFAST UPI Hundreds of British troops today occupied a former Protestant housing estate which they seized from the trish Republican Army in their first concerted drive againsl an IRA stronghold. The battle for the area climaxed a 26 hour period ending early today in which five soldiers and three civilians died in one of the worst surges of killings in Northern Ireland since the IRA ended its twoweek cease fire Sunday.
