January 21, Lana A. Shields 1997 TRANSCRIPT-BULLETIN Page 5 OBITUARIES Pauline C. Anderson Pauline Charlesworth Anderson passed away peacefully Jan. 17. 1997, in Rock Springs, where she was living with her daughter.

Pauline was born March 17, 1916 at Kanosh. Utah to Kittie Clyde Adams and James Emery Charlesworth. She graduated from Fillmore High School and then married Lloyd N. Anderson of Oasis, Utah. They settled in Tooele.

Utah, for 56 years leaving in 1996. Pauline worked at the Tooele Ordnance Depot. Later, she worked for the School Lunch Program for 12 years serving as a Manager for 10 years at the Harris Elementary School in Tooele. Pauline was a faithful member of the LDS Church, serving in many different positions. Pauline was a loving wife, mother of two sons and two daughters: Vernon (Dawn Rae) Anderson of Yuma.

Phyllis (Robert) Twede of Rock Springs, Ronald Charles Anderson of American Fork. Utah: and Sheila K. Robertson of Tremonton. Utah. Pauline has 16 grandchildren, 28 great -grandchildren and two greatgreat -grandchildren.

Shirley Fae Johnson Our beloved wife, mother. grandmother and sister. Shirley Fae Johnson. 61. was called home by her Heavenly Father, Jan.

20. 1997. after a hard fight with cancer. She was born Feb. 17.

1935 to Emmett Henry Steenson and Judith Elnora Teeples Steenson. She married Verdon Johnson on June 6. 1953. in Ely, Nev. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She lived in Tooele for 43 years where she raised two girls. Sheryl Lynn (Jeff) Davis and Geana Lee (Terry) Graft. She was very devoted to her grandchildren: Dana and Daylin Davis. Jilena and Eric Graft. She loved them very much.

She devoted her whole life to her family and home. She loved her flowers in the yard and spent many hours tending to them. They were always as beautiful as she was. She is survived by her husband. children.

As to her request, graveside services will be held at the Tooele Cemetery Friday, Jan. 24, at 11 a.m. Friends and family may call one hour prior at the Tate Mortuary. Boy Scout seeking kids' bike helmets For safety's sake, bicycles and helmets should go together. A Grantsville Boy Scout is trying to match the two to finish his Eagle Scout project.

Spencer Loveless and members of Troop 167 have fixed up a number of abandoned bikes they acquired from the Grantsville Police Department. Loveless now needs helmets to go with them. The boy scout intends to donate the bicycles to Grantsville Elementary School's bicycle safety program. The school holds a bike fair each year with assistance of the Grantsville Police Department. Teachers will help select students they think would like to participate, but who don't have a bicycle.

At the conclusion of the course, the children will be able to keep the bicycles and helmets. Anyone who has child-size helmets they no longer use and would be willing to donate may contact Spencer, 884-6218, or take them to Sgt. Brent Rowley at the Grantsville Police Department, 429 E. Main. Shields, age 56, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away Jan. 20. 1997, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Lana was well known for her baking abilities and artistic cake decorating. She enjoyed this hobby until her health prevented it.

Lana had a tender heart and never turned away anyone who needed help. She was concerned with her loved ones until the very end. Lana's unwavering presence will be missed by many. She married Dale Brennen on Oct. 25, 1955, in Farmington.

They were later divorced. She married Van Shields on May 9. 1958 in Lincoln, Utah. They were later divorced. She is survived by her children: Dal (Kaye) Shields, Corry Shields.

Kristie (Mike) Anderson. Julie Shields; nine grandchildren; a brother, Jon (Frankie) Shields: two nieces, six nephews, and many adopted children. She is preceded in death by her parents: Alvin "Ave" Shields and Mignon Mitchell Shields Hayes: a sister, Dolly Shields Taylor: a granddaughter, Toni Shields; and a Dan W. Whitehouse Dan W. Whitehouse passed away Jan.

20, 1997, in Tooele. Utah. He was born Jan. 7. 1918.

to Willard W. and Maggie Cassity Whitehouse. He was married to his sweetheart Inez L. Proctor on Aug. 11.

1939 in the Salt Lake Temple. Dan grew up and received his early education in Tooele, Utah. He graduated from LDS Business College and continued his education by graduating from BYU with a degree in Music. After several years in the business world, Dan settled into his lifelong love of music. He established Whitehouse Music Studio, teaching.

composing and refining his many talents. His gift of music touched the lives of many, many people. Dan served his country with the 254th General Hospital during World War II. He was a member of the LDS Church, fulfilling many callings during his lifetime. Surviving are his daughter.

Danalyn (John) Shields of Helena. son, Ted (Merlo) Whitehouse of Woodland. Utah; six Glade A. Gamble Glade Alfred Gamble passed away suddenly Jan. 21, 1997.

He was born Nov. 22, 1948. Glade was a graduate of Grantsville High School where he excelled in tennis, winning the state title his senior year. He served four years in the Coast Guard. Glade met and married his wife.

Ti, in Las Vegas, where they were both employed. Their home is in Wendover, Nev. Glade was employed by the Stateline Casino. He is survived by: his wife, Ti; his boy, Milo; father and mother, Don and Evelyn Gamble, Grantsville; brother, Larry; sister, Julie; one niece and two nephews. Graveside services will Thursday, Jan.

23, 11 a.m. at the Grantsville City Cemetery. A view- Jay Clair Bush Jay Clair Bush, 86, passed away peacefully in his sleep Jan. 17. 1997, at the home of his daughter in Roy.

He was born March 17, 1910, in Malad City, Idaho, the son of Robert Thomas Bush and Mary Williams Bush. On June 12, 1931, he married Leatha Amelia De St. Jeor in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died June 26, 1994. He served in the Army Signal Corps during World War II.

He had resided in Malad City, Idaho, Tooele, Ogden, Brigham City and Roy, Utah. He enjoyed his family, hunting, Op Lana A. Shields grandson, Jackson Mylan. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 23.

1997. at 1 p.m. in the Pine Canyon Ward. where friends may call from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m.

Interment. Tooele City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers. the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society. 941 East Dan W.

Mr. Bush is survived by two sons: Jay Lynn (Pat) Bush, St. George and Donald Clair (Gay) Bush, Las Vegas; two daughters: Judith (Ray) Law, Roy, and Mary (Gayle) Allen, Ogden; and 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leatha, and son, Thomas S. Bush.
