GA -064t EVENLNGS, CR l-17bj 11-1-tf SHOP IS THE GREATER SANTA CRUZ TRADING AREA THE KNOCKER By W. H. White Metaphysicians tell us that words are things, that every word speak A i or evil, is defi- nit fnrcA u.hich like the wave caused by dropping a pebble in-t a pool. 5 spreads its po'v- rn er in ever in creasing circles throughout all time. And there is tremendous thought! If it be true, how closely, we should guard our tongue sgainst utterance of thoughtless words of condemnation, lest those words grow into powerful forces for evil.

There is already too much of that the world. And how freely we should give words of praise and cheer and helpfulness. I suspect that, hu-1 man nature being what it is, good words may not make quite as big a splash nor cause as big waves as evil words. We have all noted that the slam seems to travel farther and faster than the bst. So it might be a good idea to make it a rule to say two things in praise of our fellow-man for every one that we say against him.

And, when you come to tbink of it. what a pleasant world that would make! Net week Mr, White of White's Mortuary, Will comment on another interesting subject.
