Charles Scavarda, chief of police, is giving his final notice to automobile owners informing them that it Is contrary to the city ordinance to park automobiles during the winter on the city streets between the hours of 2 and 6 a.

m. The parking hinders snowplowing. He is also -warning automobile owners for failing to stop at stop signs. After this last warning arrests will be made for violation of the night street parking ordinance and the failure to stop at stop signs. Autoists are also warned to exercise care in the vicinity of hills set aside for coasting for children.

The hills are on Mine street near the Leo Isdebski residence, on Beecher street near the Bennett residence and on North Case street, north of the St. Sebastian church. MILITARY "FUNERAL TO BE HELD HERE MONDAY A military funeral, conducted by the Peter Gedda American Legion post, will be held here Monday morning for Samuel Glatczak who died at the Danville, 111., veterans hospital Tuesday morning. The deceased served in the American navy during the World war. He was the son of Mr.

and Mrs. William (Valentine) Glatczak of this city and was a resident of Detroit. The services will be conducted a the St. Sebastian church at 9 a. The Rev.

J. Swoboda will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcres cemetery. The body will arrive here tomorrow morning and may be at the home of parents. START COLLECTING TAX IN TOWNSHIP NIONDA Collection of taxes for Besseme township will be started Mondaj December 6, by Mrs. Lempi J. Ne. mark, township treasurer. The co lection fee will be one per cent ur til January 10 and from that dab March 4 it will be four pe cent.

Mrs Nelmark will receive taxes from 9 a until 2:30 p. m. from Monday to Friday, inclusive, each week and on Saturdays from 9 to 12 o'clock. PENALIZED LICENSEES GET CLASS PERMITS Anton Negri and James Giacherio, both of Ramsay, who had their tavern licenses suspended at the liquor control commission hearings in Ironwood recently for an indefinite period, were notified yesterday by the commission that they will receive Class restaurant licenses permitting them to sell beer, wine and liquor. LEGION POSTS MEET The American Legion posts of Bessemer and Bessemer township will meet tonight at their usual meeting places.

The township post will meet at 7.30 o'clock at the township hall in Ramsay and the Bessemer unit will meet at 8 o'clock at the Legion building here. BOARD PAYS CLAIMS Claims and wages for the month of November were paid by the Bessemer township board at its meeting last night at the township hall in Ramsay. SCHOOLS CLOSED The public schools of Bessemer and Bessemer township were closed today during the county teachers' institute held in Ironwood. Mrs. Celia Proprawski of Detroit will arrive here tomorrow morning to attend the funeral of Samuel Glatczak.

2--The Anvil Parent- Teacher association will sponsor a dance to be given at the Anvfl gymnasium Saturday night, December 4. Dancing will start at 8 o'clock, and continue until midnight. A seven piece orchestra will furnish music for dancing and the public Is invited. A small admission fee will be charged. Proceeds will go towards the PTA treasury.

Leaders of the various home extension groups of townships in this county, organized under the auspices of the University of Michigan, net Tuesday morning at the Anvil club house. Miss Strow of Marquette, and Miss Normar Streeter of Ironwood, were in charge of the session. Their subject for the second session, was the making of slipcovers. In the evening the extension group of the Anvil-Palms had their meeting. A pot-luck lunch was served.

The second number of the Anvil lecture course will be presented at the Anvil gymnasium Wednesday night, December 8, beginning at 8 o'clock. Hutson Breaks His Own Record New York, Dec. 2--(IP)--Don Hutson, Green Bay Packer end, broke his own National Football league pass catching record this season, according to statistics released today. The former Alabama star caught forty-one passes for 552 yards, bettering his own 1936 mark of thirty- four completions and 526 yards. His yardage record, however, will be in danger Sunday when the Chicago Bears meet the Chicago Cardinals in one of the final two games of the league schedule.
