A scavanger hunt held Wednesday night attracted many. Fifteen objects were lo be found. The first team back laving 14 items consisted of Joel Morris, Vinee Snyder, i Taylor, Toni Shutter, Christ! and Fick, Carol and Elizabeth Sisenhauer, Lisa Yocum, Scott and Joe Petry. Next Wednesday a wheels parade will De held. Again the girls' softball team ost.

This time to lona. The game this week is against Ebenezer. Winning in last week's tournaments were Jim Miller and Kim Keeney in ping pong; Brian Klinger in checkers; and Barb Reed in chess. The activities are under the direction of Janine Lohbrandt. CORNWALL The third week of summer playground activities came to a close Friday at Cornwall.

EBENEZER A patriotic dress-up parade was held Wednesday evening. The winners in this event were as follows: Bobby Hetrick, best decorations; Steve Fasnacht, prettiest; unusual; Rafe Vicki Fritz, most Reppert and Judges choice, Mark Hippie parade winners: Diane Smith, Alan Spangler, Phyllis Miller, Lisa Carpenter, Barbara Grandi, Linda Beard, Brian Carpenter, Tammy 1 and Dawn of swimming vas enjoyed Thursday afternoon the Cedar Crest High School Shuffle board and tether ball ournaments have started. Softball: Boys 7-13 won by orfeit over Mount Gretna; Boys 12-16 were leading 2-0 over lona when rain halted proceedings in bottom of the fourth inning.

The defending champion girls team, after overwhelming Mount Gretna, Pleasant Hills, had things a little bit tougher on Wednesday before edging Ebenezer 3-1. Arts and crafts: Pencil holders, bracelets and dragonfly memoclips were made. An art show was held with the following children winners: Jean Achenbach, Cindy Arnick, Ten Bahstetter, Suzanne Judy Achenbach, Donna Florentine, Randy Miller, Cath Fiorentino, Steve Light and Mark Sakalosky. A movie was enjoyed in the church chapel on Thursday evening. This week in softball: Boys Susan Sprecher won for the most patriotic costume.

The special event scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. will be a pet parade. The girls' softball (earn lost to Cornwall in a well played game. On Wednesday the girls' team will travel to Avon. The game will begin at 1:30 p.m.

The boys' softball game against South Hills was postponed due to rain. Tuesday evening the movie "The Horse without a Head" will be shown at 9 The activities are under the direction of Sue Leiss and James Dostich. SOUTH HILLS Last week at South Hills the boy's junior league softball team lost, the girls' softball team beat Pleasant Hill and the boy's senior league game was postponed because of rain. On Monday evening the movie "Moon Pilot" was shown and Wednesday evening the children made dragon fly memo clips. On Thursday evening a hat parade was held.

The winners of the parade were: Mike Albert, the smallest hat; Kevin Albert, the largest hat; Mathew Egan, the most original hat; Jackie Egan, Ihe funniest hat; and Michele Hollis, the prettiest hat. The construction of the playground was with the making of a softball diamond and painting of the trailer. Next week's activities include softball game, a wheels parade, a movie on Monday evening, and a checker's ournament beginning on Tuesday. PERSHING AVENUE Avenue Playground field its first parade Tuesday evening. The theme for the parade was 'On Wheels" and the winners were: Jamie Deimler, mosi colorful; Eric Schaffer, most patriotic; Cathy Rosnowski most original; Debbie Brown most wheels; Tina Brown, fun niest; Penny Ross, oddest; Cas? Scholes, fanciest; Larry Boyer smallest; Kristie Holler, jazz iest, and Tony Brown, Stephanie Corlellini, Ann Whitner and Bruce Sherrid, judges' choice.

A coloring contest held Monday evening was also well supported. The winners for ages 5 to 7 were: Edward Coyle, first; Deborah Brown, second, and Megan Roberts, third. For ages 8 to 11, the winners were Betzy Kline, first; Cheryl Lewis, second, and Robert Kline, third. The playleadcrs are Anne Heisle'r and Barry Heckai'd. The association president is Edward Albert.

The winners in the monkey bar contest were: Corey Mull, best co-ordinated; Carl Dondore, most spectacular; Ed Coyle, best rhythm and Liz Schlegel, quickest. The winners of the base running contest were: Jim McDowell, senior high boy; Joe McDowell, junior high boy; Ruth Brown, junior gh girl; Fred Schlegel, fourth, fifth, sixth boy; Carl Dondore, first, second, third boy and Barbara Smith, first, second, third girl. Painting contest winners were: Tony Brown, first; Ken Roth, second, and Michael Erbe, third. Stuffed animal parade winners were: Lisa Arnold, longest; Kori Zellers, smallest; Mary Ellen Martina, most colorful; Libby Kohr, most eyes; Andrew Horen, largest family; Pat Wolf, cutest; Penny Ross, wierdest; Greg and Doug Singer, biggest; Billy' Erke, funniest, -and Janet Lawrence, judge's choice. WEST LEBANON An all-wheels parade was held 'uesday evening under the di- ection of Mrs.

Catherine chaeffer. There were 27 chil- ren who participated. The Werni Jr. and Miss Donna Children presenting winning dolls were: Beth Lerch, Kerry Christopher Tarsa, Stacy Peters, Hallie Felty, Sherri Engle. Cathy Munnion, Pam Dohner, Elizabeth Fox, David Deck, Brenda and Ginny Sanger.

The parents defeated the children Wednesday evening in volleyball games. The parents will be looking for more players the next game on July 28. The girls' Softball team defeated the Avon-Hebron team on Wednesday and will be playing Mt. Gretna Pleasant Hill on July 8. The boys' senior team Softball game will be with Ebenezer at lona on Thursday.

The crafts for the week include hot plates and windmill banks. Children should bring milk cartons. Many events are scheduled this Thursday evening. The annual fa.ther-son softball game will begin at 6:30 p.m. at 7 p.m.

there will be -a dress-up parade. Free watermelon will be served immediately following the game. All activities are under the direction of Mrs. Kathy Andrews and William Dissinger. FREDERICKSBURG The pet show was held Thursday with 25 entering.

Winners were: Smallest, tropical fish, Marlone Hain; cutest, 1st dog, Luann Kohr, 2nd kittens, Kathy 7-13 have game Tuesday; Boys 12-16 have a Thursday afternoon game. Girls go to South Hills on Wednesday. Arts and Crafts: Children are asked to remember to bring baby food jars and small boxes for this weeks crafts. Swimming on Wednesday morning and movie Thursday evening. A scavenger hunt is scheduled for Monday evening a wheels parade will be held Thursday night prior to the movie.

PLEASANT HILL At Pleasant Hill this week the highlight was a softball game between the married men and single men. The married men gained the victory. The girl's softball working hard team still after losing South Hills Girls on Wednesday. The weekly movie was shown on Wednesday night entitled "Moon Pilot." On Thursday night an "On Wheels" parade was held, and the following went home with prizes: Most colorful, MT. GRETNA Thirty entries particiapted in last week's stuffed a i a parade.

Winners were Dina Nunciata, most unusual; Sherry Winkelmann, largest smallest; John Heisey, cutest Terry Blackburn and funniest; i Mckinney and Pat Mckinney oldest looking; and Harry Noll greatest number. A bike rodeo followed the pa rade. Larry Kreider was champion. Winners in individua events were Larry Kreider Dina Nunciata, barrel Bret Burns and Shelia race Buck winners were: Smallest, Oathy Hoffman; Cindy Howcr; prettiest, Nichols; cuddliest, rabbit, Roger Getz; most playful, 1st rabbit, Gene Gerhart; 2nd ducks, Glen Miller and Charmaine a t- tazahn; best groomed, 1st dog, Kathy Myers; 2nd dog, Buzzy Sholly; best trained, 1st dog, Robin Gerhart; 2nd dog, Holly Grimes, most unusual, tie for 1st, gerbilles, Barbara Dyer and Mary Lou Sholly; largest, pony, Greg Satlazahn; judges' choice, dog, Angie Swope. Judges were Carol Jandrositz, Kay Spangler and Sharon Walmer.

Tuesday the boys' baseball team went to Lickdale Playground to play. Fredericksburg won 13-5. There will be baseball practice for the midget team every morning this week at 9:30 a.m. A hobby show will held Thursday. MYERSTOWN A movie, "The Human Duplicating was shown Thursday evening to a capacity crowd.

More movies are planned in the future. Our first show, wacky umbrellas was held Wednesday night. The winners were: most Vickie Heiler and David Mairk- ey; most original, Elson Eiler; most unusuai, Mike Hower; most decorative, Steve Reed The judges were Mrs. Kern and Mrs. Mildred Clark.

There will be A watermelon party on July 14. PROGRESSIVE A hobo parade was held Thursday. The winners were: Fattest, Richard Clark; pret- ties-t, Lisa Putt; best female, the Roof family; most colorful, Fred Bowers, Mike Pebs; funniest, Jim Hamilton; most original, original, Craig Steckman; prettiest, Sherrie Hunsicker; most unusual, Viki Kemble; largest, Amanda Kahl; smallest, Judy Bortz; most colorful, Tod Hummel; best of show, Judy Bortz; most decorated, Kathy Gassert. The girls softball team won their first game Tuesday. It was a good game, well-played by both teams, but Myerstown came out on top of Richland 1312.

Wetzel; Dierolf; most most wheels, work, James Zimmerman; and best idea, Debra Dierolf. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Smith were judges for the event. The children made Swedish trivets and happy bugs as craft projects.

This week the featured crafts will be autograph hounds, clothes brushes, and weekday pins. Also time trials will be taken during the weekly at Cedar Crest for the nnual Play Day event coming at the end of the month. The HEALTH by Michael A. Included in this week's crafts are note boxes; autograph hounds, Tuesday; clothespin holders, Wednesday; seed mosaics, Thursday; and thing niks, Friday. The girls' and boys' junior and senior teams all met defeat in their second attempts last week. This week the girls' team will play lona at Pleasant Hill field on Wednesday afternoon. They will leave Mt. Gretna at 1 p.m.

The special event for this Wednesday evening will be a treasure hunt followed by a watermelon party. Activities begin at 6:30 p.m. The movie for Friday evening, is "The Horse Without a Head." Movie begins at 8:15 p.m. All activities are under the direction of Linda Spitler and George Carmickle. AVON Last week's playground activities at Avon were highlighted by a Pet Parade.

Entries included everything from ants to ducks. The final winners were Heidi Patches for the smallest pet, Ken Ebersole for the largest, Amy Jo Dundore the fanciest, Michael Deck-art for the most unique pet, and Sharon Deckart for the Judge's choice. Thanks bo to the judges, Mrs. Ken Miller and Mrs. Frank Keath.

Arts and crafts projects for last week included popsicles treasure chests, and Patriotic pencil holders. Forty-three children took part in the playground's swim program at Cedar Crest High School. On Tuesday the playground will begin preparing for the swim meet which will be held on playday. The Avon Jets remained undefeated in softball when the Junior's defeated South Hills 7-2 and the Seniors defeated Pleasant Hill 20-2. The winning pitchers were Dave Leibig and Mike Jordall.

The Avon Jetlets were defeated by the lona Girls by a score of 17-1. This week the Junior Jets will go to Cornwall, the Senior Jets will entertain Mt. Gretna, and the Jetlets will entertain Ebenezer. This week's special event will be a watermelon eating contest and a doggie roast. Playleadcrs are Miss Dertise I Keath and Greg Geltle.

Mike Lance; most unusual, Linda Toms; smallest, Mary Hamilton, Bill Slike; judges' choice, Tom Pebs. This week there will be a doll and model parade. In wiffle ball league action last week at Progressive the Cardinals beat the Reds 4-2; the Red Sox beat the Pirates 8-5. IONA Thirty-six children displayed their dolls Thursday evening at the lona Playground. Judges for the doli parade were Mrs.

Dwight Fake, Mrs. Michael The Mites baseball team beat Richland Tuesday by 19-2. Jeff Schutter and Fritz Shaak held Richland to three hits. The boys basketball team was victorious over Newmanstown 114 to 19, setting a new playground record for points scored in a game. Jeff Brosey and Donnie Hibshman led the scoring parade with 30 points each.

Also scoring double Figures were Henry Killian, 16; Doug Miller, 14 and Gary Yeagley, 10 points. The arts and crafts for the week were eyeglass pins, rafia baskets and gimp. Plans for the lantern parade are underway and work on the lanterns will begin soon. A pet show will be held Wednesday night at 7. UPl-Ddily NEWS FccsmiiU.
