3J RAILROAD -W'l NEW YORK XOTIIER step in the proRvess of the Pcnnsylvnuiii Railroad's New York tunuul ex tension and Long Island connections was taken to-duy when plans for the East River Bridge of tlie New York Connecting Railroad were submitted by Vice President Ren to the Municipal Art Commission for its approval, In accordance with the franchise granted by the city to the company. This bridge will form part of steel viaduct, more than three miles long. CONNECTING connecting the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad system in the Bronx with the Long Island and the Pennsylvania. With sweeplug curve the viaduct will pass over Hell Gate, Ward's Island, Little Hell Gate, Randall's Island and Uronx Kills. It will be the longest and heaviest steel bridge in the world.
