The wheat market was quiet during the morning, hut very steady, showing some tendency to rally on the reports regarding the Balkan situation. Tlie advances, however, were small and trading was influenced to some extent by the fact that most of the European markets were lower, particularly the Continental, showing an absence of excitement over the war news. Trading was very quiri until the last hour, when prices broke sharply on commission house selling, which caught a go" my stop orders, particularly for traders who bought early on the war news. Receipts were heavy and continued just about double last year, although, on the other hand, Interior shipments are three times last year's. Some export business wa worked on the decline.

Wheat closed steady, at a practical rally from the iow, the result of short covering. Export sales of 2D loads of prlng wheat were claimed. The trading in corn was quiet with prices showing very little change uuiil after midday, when prices declined, being affected by the weakness in wheat and also by the continued good weather West. Interior cash market were quiet and somewhat irregular. The receipts of corn are rather limited at interior points, but this failed to have much influence.

Corn closed iieavy at about the day low quotation. Support was lacking. In oats fluctuations wero narrow, with the tone a little easier. The selling waa not aggresslvo, however, but with good receipts there Is very limited speculative demand on the bull side. The market continues to be very largely a cash proposition.

Oats closed barely steady and without rallying power. Trading In hog products was of fair volume, with prices showing a somewhat easier tone. Speculative proHt-talting was In evidence to some extent. Hogs were a shade easier, although the movement is Check Pays Clos- Y. Intr.
