December ISU hash downs SCI Iowa State's freshman bas ketball team completely dominated the final 10 minutes of action Monday night in winning a 66 44 victory over the State College of Iowa yearling squad here Monday night.

With 12:02 to play in the contest, State College held a 37 36 lead. From that point on the host team outscored the junior Panthers 30 8 in winning it's initial game of the season. At one stretch, ISU scored 14 of 15 points, as the host team went from a 40 39 lead to 54 40 in a three minute period. The game started off in a nip and tuck fashion, as first one team and then the other would grab the lead. Neither team held more than a seven point lead, as ISU managed to be on top at halftime, 28 25.

The second half started off in the same fashion until Iowa State staged its scoring explo Bob Van Cura and Skeet Johnson paced ISU in the rebounding denartment with 15 and 10 respectively. Lyle Schwarzen bach and Bob Wantiez each had eight for SCT. Bob Duffield led a balanced Iowa State scoring attack with 15 points. Wantiez was high for State College with 12 points.
