STARTEX TOWEL- 1 fAs ESG, worth 1072c ALL LINEN TOWEIXNG, rt-i worth 80c GlC Tho $2,000,000 campaign (or free Catholic high schools has met success. The amount asked (or from Brooklyn Catholics has been subscribed, according to an announce-ynent by Bishop Thomas E. Molloy in this weeks Issue of The Tablet, the Catholic organ of the diocese. It gives me preat pleasure to announce that the realization of the objective, In our recent campaign for funds to build free Catholic hlgrli schools, is now assured, Bishop Molloy states. The sum of will be secured at the termination of the period assigned for the fulfillment of pledges received during the campaign.

The success of this notable achievement bespeaks more eloquently than any words of mine the generosity, loyalty and devotion of the Catholic cleigy, religious and laity of the Diocese of Brooklyn. Their instant, spontaneous, magnificent response to the appeal for financial support to provide greater facilt- ties for the mental and moral training of cur boys and girls reveals ct commendable Interest in the proper development of human character, and an Intelligent understanding of the need, value and Influence of religious education. Two million dollars represent sl substantial sum of money, and, If ae consider, in addition to this amount, the splendid contributions of the tsihoho people of mo Diocese of Brooklyn to various other extraordinary coliec ions during tho year 1122, ueb as $18,000 to the Indians and negroes, $40,000 to the Holy Father, $47,000 to the suffering Russians, Ger. mans and Austrians, $146,000 to foreign missions, $100,000 to the seminary and $220,000. to the orphans then, indeed, we may form some estimate of the unstinted giving of our good people to worthy causes represented so appealingly to them by our eealous clergy.

To enhance fairly end reasonably, moreover, their generous disposition In offering financial aid to deservlnjg diocesan, national and world needs, and thus to bring material and spiritual blessings into the lives of oth-ers It is proper to indicate that during the year 1922 our devoted laity also readily accepted and proportionately satisfied the ordinary and extraordinary obligations of their respective parish (churches and schools. A bishop of the diocese ata naturally gratified by this remarkable expression of good will on tho part of the clergy, religious and people. And I am encouraged be-youdsfteasure by their loyal expression of generous assistance so enthusiastically and faithfully rendered for the eucees of the first Important diocesan undertaking in my administration. As a matter of general information, I am pleased also to announce at this time that the various properties required for the new school buildings have already been purchased. Preliminary preparation for the drawing of plans are now being made.

The proposed now school buildings, therefore, will ra erected as soon as possible. At the end of the month of May of the current year a public state-, ment will appear in the Tablet, which will contain a list of the eon- tri buttons from the- various parish of the diocese. In the meantime, the clergy ana laity will continue their worthv efforts to Increase their quotas and to secure the full amount of their Values, $4.50, $5.00 and $5.50 Mens Furnishings 1 1 1 TV IMPORTED GLASS TOWELING, Girls School Dresses 15c Of Fine Ginghams or Chambrays Sizes 7 to 14 Years $1.00 HTCK TOWELS 1 9 Vm (18x86), worth lii'IZC HTCK TOWELS, fancy borders.
