Wednesday. March 15. 1989 THE RICHFIELD REAPER 1 Clint Johnson SALINA Clinton R. (Clint) Ada B. Smith Sampson Johnson, 82, Salina, died March 12, 1989, in a Richfield care center.

He was bom June 14, 1906, Redmond, to Hans Peter and Annie Marie Nordfelt Johnson. He married Vera Hansen, Dec. 23, 1931, Manti LDS Temple. He was active in the LDS Church. He served in the Northern California LDS Mission.

He served in the scouting program as a scoutmaster. He was employed for many years by Christiansen Furniture in Richfield. Survivors: wife, Salina; sons, daughter. Freeman, Moorehead, Robert (Bob), Salina; Mrs. Dale (Dorothy Ann) Gurley, Payson; David, Orem; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Richfield Eighth LDS Ward chapel. Friends may call at Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Wednesday from 7 Elza Dee Elza Dee Atkinson, 91, died March 10, 1989, in Salt Lake City. He was bom July 24, 1897, Woods Cross, to George N.

and Malinda Ann Duncan Atkinson. He married Otellie Durrans Sept. 9, 1917; later divorced. Married Nellie D. Madsen June 17, 1952; she died June 11, 1975.

He was a rancher in Rexburg, for many years. He came to Utah and became manager of Fantasy Ranch in Salt Lake City where he helped to design and build all the buildings for the ranch animals. He AURORA Ada Ray Behunin Smith, 67, died Feb, 28, 1989, of a lingering illness. She was born May 18, 1921, Fremont, to Isaac Martin and Julie Ellen Cook Behunin. She was married to Marvin Robert Smith, Oct, 12, 1952, Las Vegas.

She was a member of the LDS Church and was a welder at Kaiser Shipyards during World War II. She had also been a bookkeeper. Survivors: husband, Aurora; daughters, Mrs. Andrew (Julia) Nielson, Yucca Valley, Lclia Tatiss, San Fracnisco, seven grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; brothers, sisters, Mrs. Mazel (Rita) Alvey, North Ogden; Mrs.

Jay (Iva) Mulford, Kearns; Lila Hamm, Sacramento, Alazda Burgess, Eugene, Mrs. Sal (Oma) Peterillo, West Palm Beach, Matthew, Riverton; Joe and Otto, both Salt Lake City; Funeral services were March 4 in the Aurora First LDS Ward chapel with LaMar McBride, member of the bishopric, conducting. Family prayer was given by Otto Behunin; prelude and postlude music was by Billie Lou Johnson and invocation was by Leland Behunin. Tributes were by Oma Peterillo and Barbara Atkins; a poem was given by Iva Mulford and speakers Lottie Andreason Lela Rasmussen Louise B. Louise B.

Sampson, 62, Richfield, died March 12, 1989, at her home. She was bom Sept. 19, 1926, Fcrron, to Melvin and Blanche El-nora Behunin Bryan. She was married to Joe Lavor Sampson, Dec. 13, 1946, Ogden; later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.

She was an active member of the LDS Church where she served in the Richfield Stake Relief Society presidency and other auxiliary positions. She was a member of Camp Josephine Daughters of Utah Pioneers; the Richfield Culture Club and the Richfield Jay-C-Ettes. Survivors: husband, Richfield; sons, Joe Stafford, Richfield; Bradley Jay, Logan; Dale Wyatt, Pleasant Grove; Darin Ray, Glen-wood; 17 grandchildren; greatgrandchild; mother, Blanche Bryan, Ogden; brother, sisters, Melvin, Renton, Mrs. Ruth Wilder, Macon, Mrs. Jim (Adelle) Lewis, Ogden.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Rich- Stanley Stanley C. Mattsson, 80, Richfield, died March 12, 1989, following a lingering illness. He was born Dec. 3, 1908, Ephraim, to Bernard and Maude Jensen Mattsson.

He married Gertrude Fairbanks Baird, Nov. 4, 1941. He was a veteran of World War II and served in Europe. He was a farmer in the Sevier County area for many years. He worked for General Services Administration in Salt Lake City until retiring in 1975.

Survivors: wife, daughter, Joan Vera BICKNELL Vera Baker Jones, 82, died March 11, 1989, in a Provo hospital. She was born Oct. 28, 1906, Thurber, to Alfred and Mary Mariah Chidester Baker. She was married to Stephen Otis Jones, July 23, 1928, Richfield; later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died Nov.

10, 1976. She was a member of Camp Thurber Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She worked in the school lunch program. She and her husband were custodians of the Thurber LDS Ward chapel for many years. Survivors: son, Ted daughter, Mrs.

Lane (Mary Peggie) Ellen, both Bicknell; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Marian Kearns; Reed, Salt Lake City. Funeral services were Tuesday in the Thurber LDS Ward chapel vilh Bishop Bliss Brinkerhoff officiating. Jan B. Ellett offered the family prayer; Ora Morrell played prelude and postlude music and Clifford Mangum offered the invocation. A tribute was by Debbie Allen and speakers were Stephen L.

Ellett and Myrtle Mangum with remarks by Bishop Brinkerhoff. Music included selections by a ladies double trio composed of Janet Jones, Debbie Brinkerhoff, Connie Durfey, Coral Brinkerhoff, Joni Taft and Janie Robinson, and a vocal solo by Janie Robinson. Ortis Shelly to 9 p.m. and Thursday morning from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Interment will be in the Richfield City Cemetery. Atkinson was an active member of the LDS Church and a ward choir director for many years. Survivors: sons, David, Charles, both Mesa, stepchildren. Delaine Chappell, Lyman; Edna Washburn, Richfield; Ora Dean Christensen, Salt Lake City; J. Earl, Payson; many grandchildren.

Funeral serves were Monday in the Winder Stake Center. Interment was in the Richfield City Cemetery by Jcnkins-Soffe Mortuary, Murray. Lottie Andreason Georgia Kennedy MARYSVALE Funeral services for Georgia R. Dalton Kennedy, 76, Marysvale, are pending and will be announced by Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Richfield.

Mrs. Kennedy died March 13, 1989, at her home. Services will be held in the Marysvale LDS Ward chapel. Mrs. Kennedy was bom May 18, 1912, in Circleville, to George Franklyn and Alice Marie Hall Dalton.

She was married to George A. Kennedy, July 25, 1931, in Richfield. were Matthew Behunin, Ward Forsyth, Marvin Smith and Julie Nielson. Music included vocal duets by Judy Forsyth and Billie Lou Johnson. The benediction was by Versal Mason.

Interment was in the Aurora Cemetery by Warren R. Jensen Funeral Home, Salina, where Ernest Bastian offered the dedicatory prayer. Pallbearers were Dean Behunin, Leland Behunin, Otto Behunin, Jim Atkins, Jay Mulford and Andrew Nielson. Reed Nielson MIDVALE Reed Nielson, 60, died March 11, 1989. He was born September 11, 1928, Elsinore, to Oral LeRoy and Talitha Snow Nielson.

He married Marian May Roberts Sept. 7, 1946, in Richfield. He worked for the government at Tooele Army Depot and was a journeyman butcher. He was a member of the LDS Church. Survivors: wife, Midvale; daughters, Mrs.

David (Kathy) Burt, Layton; Ms. Karyn Kerr, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Dennis (Debbie) Brimhall, Sandy; Ms. Diana Caldwell, West Jordan; eight grandchildren. Funeral services were Tuesday in the Goff Mortuary Chapel, Sandy.

Interment was in the Elsinore Cemetery. family prayer; Ella Lee Lund played prelude and postlude music and Marwood Hales gave the invocation. Speaker was T. Merlin Ashman and tributes were by Gordon Scott Hansen and Sharie Lynn Hansen, with remarks by Bishop Jensen. Music included vocal duet by Joy Mickelsen and Jolene Willard-son, and vocal solo by Terral Nelson.

Doug Jensen gave the benediction. Interment was in the Redmond Cemetery by SpringerTurner Funeral Home, Salina, where Martin tFlctshcr gave the dedicatory prayer. 1 Pallbearers were Roy Barney, Todd Hansen, Kenneth Johnson, Chris Ramsay, Larry Hansen, Bryan Carlson. Honorary pallbearers were Brent Johnson, Shayne Hansen, John Barney, Carl Barney, Boyd Gillins, David Barney, Jeff Hansen, Randy Johnson, John Git-tins, Rex Barney, Jeff Hardy, Ronald Barney, John Hansen and Don E. Williams.

Busk offered the dedicatory prayer. Pallbearers were Eric Larsen, David Busk, Chris Busk, Brett Thompson, Jeff Gudmundsen, Dick Gudmundsen, Bob Bames and Lathael Winn. Honorary pallbearers were Lorin Webster, Jewel Busk, Horace Lindsey, Blaine Covington, Mack Holt, Duane Julander, Bud Hancock, Robert Hurst, Boyd Say, Russell Busk, John Shaw, Brad Nielsen, Larry LaBrune, Steve Pfister, Scott Hunt, Steven Maughn and Michael Anderson. Funeral services for Lottie Lil-lice Lewis Andreason were held Thursday in the Larkin Mortuary chapel, Salt Lake City, with Bishop W. Kenneth Hirschi, McLinley LDS Ward, officiating.

Alan A. Farr offered the family prayer and Dorothy G. Gardner gave the invocation. Speakers were Richard Y. Clayton, Lottie Lund McKay and remarks were by Bishop Hirschi.

Music included a vocal solo by Carmi H. Campbell. James Peterson offered the benediction. Graveside services were Friday in the Richfield City Cemetery where Donald. G-.

Stenquist offered dedicatory prayer. Funeral director was Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary. Isaac Thornton Isaac Anthony Thornton, 5, Lehi, died March 11, 1989, as a result of an auto-pedestrian accident He was bom Sept. 10, 1983, Gunnison, to Kenneth Lloyd and Mary Ellen Adams Thornton.

He was a preschool student Survivors: parents, Lehi; brothers, sisters, Rachel, Wren Fenton, Corbin Ken, Joshua Heber, all of Lehi; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Adams of Orem, formerly of Richfield; Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Thornton, Gila Bend, Mrs.

Lettie Whitney, Hurricane; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Taylor, Aurora. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 14, in the Lehi 18th Ward Chapel. field Fourth LDS Ward chapel.

Friends may call Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Neal S. Maglcby and Sons Mortuary. Interment will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.

at SpringerTurner Funeral Home, Richfield. Jones Vera B. Jones gave the benediction. Interment was in the Bicknell Cemetery by SpringerTurner Funeral Home, Richfield, where Scott A. Elicit offered the dedicatory prayer.

Hansen, March 5, 1925, Evanston, he died June 6, 1966. She was married to Paul Rasmussen, 1967, later divorced. Survivors: Mrs. Peggy Hardy, Bellevue, Payton Williams, Ogden; Mrs. Jay (Lawana) Anderson, Salt Lake City; Mrs.

Kay (Norma) Johnson, Tooele; Mrs. Sheldon (Fern) Barney, Green Riv-er. Mrs. Les (Carol) Over-ton1, San Diego, Stanley Ray Hansen, Aurora; Lois Barney, Mesa, Mrs. Allen (LaRee) Reedy, Salt Lake City; Orvel J.

Hansen, Mesa, Gordon Scott Hansen, West Jordan; 43 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Monday in the Redmond LDS Ward chapel with Bishop Lee Jensen officiating. Stanley Ray Hansen offered the Golda ELSINORE Funeral services for Golda Pectol Busk were held Friday in the Elsinore First LDS Ward chapel, with Bishop Richard Reed, officiating. Neal Busk offered the family prayer; Dorothy Barlow played prelude and postlude music and Brad Thompson gave the invocation. Tributes were given by Elizabeth Staples, Patricia Christiansen Busk and Gwendolyn Jacobson and speaker was Paul Carroll.

Remarks were by Bishop Reed.
