SOUTHTOWN ECONOMIST, SUNDAY, OCTOBER 19, 1941 Roseland Model Home to Be Open To Public Today House, Built by Lions and Legion Post, Will Be Given Away. Nearing completion, the $15,000 Roseland model home at 11401 Emerald will be open to the public for inspection this afternoon. From 2:30 p.m. on, ushers will escort persons through the Bix-room residence which has been constructed under the auspices of the Roseland post No. 49, American Legion, and the Roseland Lions club.

The house will be awarded to an Individual just before Christmas. Award tickets may be obtained at the formal opening. Proceeds will be devoted to the two organizations' service activities. The house is made of brick with 12-inch walls and steel beams for the support of the second floor. Many windows provide exceptional lighting and ventilation.

The kitchen is electrically equipped at a cost of $1,250 and includes a stove, refrigerator and dish washer. The yai is landscaped and gi ass is already growing. Only 2,060 persons in the United States and Canada have received this award. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois and has been associated with the a since 1936.
