Letters of warm nppreclatlon have been the reward of the Crosstown conductors and motor-men who have so loyally contributed to this fund from their weekly pay envelope. The following from "Handsome" John Dale Is Just one of the many expressions of thanks that have been received: "To tho Boys at Crosstown: There Is no doubt that you' would like to know how we are making out over here. There would be a whole lot to write If we only could, but the censors forbid lis to write too much. And that's allrlght, too, because we don't use so much paperl But I must say that France Is one wonderful place for scenery, and the sights aro never to be forgotten. We don't do fighting all the time, for there Is time for a little pleasure too.

Only the other day we witnessed a show that would make Broadway stand up and take notlre. The smokes that the boys from ths depot send us certainly come In handy, for hfre It Is very hard to get smokes and chewing tobacco.
