A EAIR COUNT. SUPERINTENDENT WALKLEY DID EXCELLENT WORK. Ho Accounts for the Bin Iucreaae In Wards Iilke the Sixth and Tenth-Enumerators Will Be Paid for their Services at Once. Mr. Arthar H.

Walkley, of the Oistriot Attorney's office, who baa been familiar to tjhe pubho for the past three weeks a. the auperin-tendent of tbe osusus, has transmitted all the returns of the enumeration to the Seeretarr of State and resumed the eren tenor of his war as chief clerk of the District Attorney's office, 1 he reader is not to infer from the above that the chief elerk has been unmindful of his regular official duties while currying the burden of the census auper-visorship. On the contrary, the' latter responsibility was a charge which consumed not only the time intermitting his daily official labors bat that of many nights. I Not. boiug an official recognized under the Census services as superintendent were purely Mr.

During the progress of the enumeration Mr. Walkley received a few- complaints from people claiming to have been overlooked by the enumerators, and all these he had reotihed by sending notice to the enumerators to that effect. since the completion of the oensus Mr. Walttley says ha has received a few more complaints about similar tenor to the above, but as they are not to materially a fleet the total, he has not deemed it necessary to send the names of the complainants to the secretary of state, these few omissions, however, are not to be seriously regarded in view nf the gigaotio libor of enumerating such a big oity as Brooklyn, for, as ilt.
