A series of dances will be given at the Waldorf-Astoria every Tuesday evening, beginning December 1, and continuing indefinitely. The dances aro to be given by Mrs. Edward Fielding-Elklns of 53 West Seventy-second street. Miss Beatrice Glascott was given a birthday reception on last Friday evening at the residence of the Misses 1'wigg on Morton street. The reception was given by the Five Hundred Club, of which Miss Glascott is a member.

After cards supper was served, the decorations being pink and white, the colors of the club. Edward A. McQuade, who recently returned from Munich, entertained at the piano, and Miss Elizabeth Clarke held her, audience spellbound by the recital of her thrilling experiences in France and Belgium during the past summer. Operatic selection were rendered by Miss Beth Gowen and Mr. and Mrs.

Victor. The prize winners at cards were Miss Kathryne Gowen and Miss Elizabeth Clarke. Hattie McCartv has charge of the affair. The Pleiades CIud gave its regular Sunday night dinner at the Hotel Bre-voort last Sunday. The toastmaster was Dr. Carter S. Cole.

The Woodrow Social Olub held its ieeond annual ball at Schwaben Hall. Knickerbocker and Myrtle avenues, Wednesday evening, November 11. The Welfare Association of Middle Village, L. held its first annual entertainment in honor of the newly elected District Attorney of Queens County, Denis O'Leary, who is an honorary member of this association. A. Sherman. The association was organized on June 23 with eight members. There is now a total roll of eighty members. The Strand Club of Brooklyn has planned an active social season and series of afternoon dances have been arranged.

The aim of the club is t' promote the social welfare of its mem bers and the community in which the operate. The Strand Club is a young men'i society. The membership at present limited, but it has been docided to open same later in the season. The initial dance will be held on Sunday afternoon, Deccmbor 27. An enjoyable Halloween party was given on Saturday, October 31, in honor of Miss Margarita Spiegelthal of Caracas Venezuela, at the home of Miss Markland, 69 Greene avenue, where Miss Spiegelthal and her father have been guests since August.

Dancing, of course, was the popular feature, of the night and the musicians were given little rest because of the numerous encores that were demanded of them. The annual theater party and reception of the Panama Athletic Club was an event of note Thursday night in tin Ridgewood-Bushwick section. The members and friends, to the number of 360, witnessed the autumn festival at the Bushwlck Theater, and after the show retired to Schwaben Hall, where a reception and buffet lunch wa; served. Dancing and a cabaret show followed. Many clubs of note of the Bushwick-Ridgewood section were represented.
