Million-Dollar Mortgage Securing Industrial Bond Issue Swells Total.

Thes local mortgage market during the past week was marked by a decided activity. It was not as active, however, as the totals might Indicate. The total of the mortgages made this week was the highest this year. But it will be noted that a mortgage of $1,000,000 was made by the International Type Betting Machine Company to the Guaranty Company of New York help to swell the total considerably. Notwithstanding this fact, however, the local mortgage companies bad an active week.

The mortgage loans by savings banks continue to be few, but those made by these Institutions were in most coses large ones. The number of mortgages taken on assignment was also gratifylngly large. Out-of-town institutions were heavy pur chasers. There continues to be plenty of money, but the demand for this Is rapidly increasing. During the past week title and trust companies loaned $1,580,700 ou bond and mortgage, and savings banks made similar loans to the amount of $136,600.

Title and trust companies took $219,850 worth of mortgages on assignment, and savings banks, $163,356. The following is a list of the mortgage transactions of the past week, to which financial Institutions were parties: Co. of N. Tit O. A I 03 000 Y.
