See. 2 Page 13" Thors May 11, 1967 THE SUN STANDARD Wedding Bells in August For Dianne Elizabeth Bemis Dianne Elizabeth Bemis' engagement to Lauren Miller has been announced by her parents Mr and Mrs Francis Bemis of 12301 Maple Ave. Blue Island Mr Miller is the son of Mr and Mrs Lawrence Miller of Chicago Miss Bemis is a 1962 graduate of Mother of Sorrows high school and received her bachelor of science in education from Northern Illinois University in June of 1966. She is presently teaching in the DeKalb area Mr Miller, a 1960 graduate of Notre Dame high school, will recede his masters degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University in June The wedding will take place in St. Benedict church in Blue Island on Aug 19th Janice Gustavson and Lauren Ostling to Wed The engagement of Janice Alice Gustavson to Lauren Ostling has been announced by her parents Mr and Mrs Bernard Gustavson of 21 45 Desplaines.

Blue Island Mr Ostling is the son of Mr and Mrs. Wayne C. Ostling of 13112 Chicago, Blue Island Miss Gustason a 1965 graduate of Dwight D. Eisenhower high school, is now employed by the Illinois Central Railroad. Mr Ostling is an employee of the Silvestn Paving Company.

He graduated from Mendel high school in 1965. The wedding date has been set for Jan. 20, 1968. The Social Whirl New Officers Installed At SSBPW's May Meeting Miniature Maypoles adorned the tables in the dining room as members and guests of the South Suburban Business and Professional Women's Club assembled for their meeting at the Beverly Woods Restaurant on May 3 It was guest night and Al Nelson was a special guest of the Club in recognition of his contribution to the Club project to beautify Blue Island. Couple Mark Golden Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs.

Henry Goesel of Henderson, Nev. were guests of honor at a celebration marking the anniversary of their 50th year of marriage. The Goesels were married in Blue Island on April 14, 1917 and lived here until May of 1959 when they moved to Henderson to be near their daughter, Mrs. John Jilbert at whose home the party was held. Another daughter, Mrs Paul Jancobsen, was the co ihostess The first card of congratulations received by the Goesels was from Blue Island's former mayor John M.

Hart and Mrs. Hart. Mr. Goesel served as a city alderman under Mayor Hart for eleven vears Mrs. Goesel wore a dress of dusty rose lace She wore a dusty rose corsage make by her granddaughter, Mrs.

Donna Jil bert. Mr. Goesel had a matching boutonniere. Mr. Goesel worked for 20 years as foreman in a factory Blue Island, had a paint and decorating store for ten years, and then worked 15 years in Chicago in a hardware store before his ictirement and the Goesel's move to Henderson Mrs.

Goesel worked eight years a dress shop and is an expert seamstress and fitter. Grandchildren and greatgrandchildren who assisted with the party were Mr and Mrs Robert Jilbert and children. Robert. Jr and Laurie of Phoenix. Ariz.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jilbert. a student at Nevada Southern. William Jilbert a student at the University in Reno Jon Jacobssn, a basic elementary school student and his brother Gary, a student at Basic high school.

Lester Catlin To Address Senior Citizens Club The Blue Island Park District's Senior Citizens Club is holding their first May meeting this Friday, May 12 at 2 pm at the Memorial Park fieldhouse The program speaker for this meeting will be Civil Defense Director of Blue Island, Lester F. Catlin.

Mr. Catlin will talk on emergency procedures in the event of severe weather and other dangerous conditions. The club members will discuss the next weeks trip to Morton Arboretum on Friday, May 19 The group will take a bus from the Memorial Park at 10 am and return around 3 pm that afternoon.
