Kenya Air Crash Misses Kenyatta NAIROBI I A Kenyan air force jcl fighter crashed in flames Sunday only a few hundred yards from where President Jomo Kenyalla was addressing a public rally. The pilot and co-pilot were killed instantly in the crash, which occurred during celebrations marking Ihe anniversary of self rule in Ihe former British colony. A second British-built Hawker Hunter jet made an emergency landing al the international a i where, according to one witness, it missed a loaded Pan American jel "by a matter of feel." The airport was closed briefly after Ihe incident.

The jet narrowly missed a crowded bus as it skidded across the four-lane highway.
