Want More Sidewalks. a year ago a petition was presented to the city council asking tohat a sidewalk be laid on the east side of Elm: street between Tenth and Eleventh streets.

Half of this side walk has been constructed, after which -work stopped and nothing more has been done on walk since. Injurious to Rubber Tires. of wagons carrying crushed rock, cinders, should see that their wagons do not leak, as the contents spilling into the streets are damaging to the rubber -tires of buggies and auomobiles passing along the streets. There is an ordinance in regard to this 'matter which should enforced. Fire Horses (Restless.

Mrs. A. B. Tower, residing six miles west of Coffeyville, died -Wednesday morning of paralysis. The funeral was iheld at the residence Thursday morning.

Interment occurred at the Robbin-s cemetery. Firemen Cleaning House. The firemen's quarters at the city hall station of the fire department are undergoing a thorough renovating and cleaning process. The walls are be ing painted and decorated and the sleeping rooms are going to present an aptrearance similar to the bridal suite of the Waldorf-Astoria when the fire get through with them. Hold Shoot Friday.

The Coffeyville Gun club will hold ts regular hoot at the Silurian park range Friday- afternoon and all mem bers of the club are urged to come out. These practice are held every other Friday afternoon. The club has- a good menrbersbip here but during hot weather not a great deal of interest has been taken In the sport. is -believed that as soon as -the days get a little coofer all the members will make an effort to attend all these shoots. Are Enjoying Fishing Trip. Frank Etcher. Wednesday morning received a letter from his brother Fred, who 13 enjoying an outing at Stapps Lake, near Ward, Colorado. Mr. Etchen writes that they are having the time of their lives.

The weather is cool and pleasant, the air invigorating and the whole party is feeling in the finest kind of shape. He says the trout fishing is very good and that lie caught a live pounder the other day that was seventeen inches long and ten inches around. The party will return home next week. Mrs. Nellie Tyler and little daughters. Mary, Mildred and Margaret, of Indianapolis, Indiana, arrived in the city this morning for a visit of several days with Mrs. Carrie Gilod and other relatives. Was a "Grand Success." The picnic given by the members of the Epworth League.

at the Andrew Lee grove, southeast of Coffeyville, is termed by the large number that attended Tuesday night, as a "grand success."
