(UPI) Hundreds of young people gathered on a farm near this Fayette County village of 826 persons Thursday while attorneys sought a court injunction against a weekend rock festival. The event, organized by Golden Frank Enterprises previously was banned by a court in Armstrong County under heavy public pressure. Commissioners of Fayette County said they would go to court in Uniontown on behalf of the supervisors in Franklin where Vanderbilt is located.

Named as defendants in the petition for the injunction were J. Harold Arnold and his wife, Mary, owners of the farm; Golden Freak; the East Coast First Rate Lighter Than Air Fair Sound Storm '71, and other officials connected with the festival. The rock festival, billed to include about 40 performing groups, was to be held on a 455-acre farm. Golden Freak was predicting an audience of as many as 40,000 or 50,000 persons. A spokesman for Golden Freak said the promoters made a "verbal agreement with Arnold for the use of his farm and paid him some money in advance.

He said the farm was "a legitimate recreational area with outdoor facilities already constructed." "There's no way anybody can stop this rock festival legally," the spokesman said. A group of local residents met at the Grange Hall Wednesday night, reportedly to discuss a plan for blocking the roads to the festival ground. Arnold tarm is located on Route 201. Tickets were sold at $10 a person, but the spokes- man said persons over 30 would be admitted free. Sadat Charges U.S.

Spoils Peace Effort In Middle East Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, pledging continuing friendship with the Union," accused the States of "spoiling peace efforts and pushing the Middle East toward an explosion the consequences of which are incalculable." Sadat spoke at a banquet Wednesday night honoring Soviet President Nikolai V. Podgorny. The two chiefs of state held a series of meetings during Wednesday and were continuing their discussions today. The Egyptian president, in public reaffirmation that his purge of pro-Moscow elements in the Egyptian government would not affect close relations between the two nations, pledged undying friendship with the Kremlin. At Mie same time, Sadat attacked the United States.

"Sweet words are not evidence of honest intentions," he said. The U.S. support is for Israel and in this context the United States is spoiling peace efforts and pushing the Middle East toward an explo- sion the consequences of which are inacalculable. Students. (Continued From Page One) Leaving northern France, the group stopped at Chartres on its way to the Chateau country. The town of Chartres is the home of Chartres cathedral which displays the height of French Gothic architecture. The Chateau Country is located in the province of Touraine, often called the Garden of France. It is in this valley that the royalty and nobility of France constructed monumental and palatial country homes.

The students visited Amboise and Chenonceaux. Amboise was constructed for the chief purpose of fortifying the Loire Valley. It was here that the famous Italian, Leonardo de Vinci spent his last few years. His remains lie in the Chapel of Saint Hubert on the castle grounds. Chenonceaux is one of the lovliest of the French chateaux.

It was used as a residence by many of ranee noble women, it was used as a hospital for the Allies during the Second World War. The students spent their last night in France in the city of Tours, the capital of Touraine and one of France's largest cities. On this final evening, the students got a glimpse of life on a grand scale as they were treated to a formal dinner which lasted from 7:30 p.m., until 10:30 p.m. On Easter Sunday, the group left Tours for the drive back to Paris and the flight back to the United States. Mr.

Skocik expressed his appreciation to the parents and friends of all of the students for their cooperation and efforts to make this trip a reality. It was only through their joint efforts that he was able to bring the real purpose of studying a foreign language into the classroom. The students that travelled with him were excellent ambassadors from the United States. Their conduct and attitude were remarked upon by the French people in contact with them and they will certainly be welcome to return again to France.
