"Ike" Isenberg, 70, of 223 58th Altoona, formerly of Glen Burnie, and Neffs Mills, died at 12:46 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 1995, in the Altoona Hospital, following a brief illness.

Born July 14,1925, at Neffs Mills, Huntingdon County, he was a son of the late Jess and Bess N. (Littleton) Isenberg. He was twice married: first, on Nov. 18, 1960, in Huntingdon, to Betty J. Norris, who died Jan.

10, 1989; then, on Feb. 17, 1990, in Altoona, to Alice M. (Weir) Hancock. Surviving are his wife, at their home; one daughter, Mrs. James (Nancy Isenberg) McDonough, of Crofton, three stepdaughters: Pamela Hancock German of Duncansville, Patricia Hancock Garman of Altoona and Penny Hancock Rago, Painesville, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and one stcpgranddaughter.

Also surviving are three sisters: Grace Fnzzell of Paisley, Margaret MacArthur, DeLand, and Esther Diehl, Warriors Mark. Mr. Isenberg was a member of Fleet Reserve, Annapolis, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 223, Huntingdon; Frank P. Hommon Post 24, American Legion, Huntingdon; Standing Stone Post 1754, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Huntingdon; Catholic War Veterans, Altoona; and the American Association of Retired Persons. A veteran, Mr.

Isenberg was a career non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy. He served for 24 years before retiring, including service in World War II, and attained the rank of senior chief engineman. After his retirement from military service, Mr. Isenberg was employed as a service technician by Sears Roebuck from which he retired in 1987, after 19 years of service.

Mr. Isenberg enjoyed woodworking, painting and gardening. Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 4, at the Mauk Yates Funeral Home, 719 Fourth Juniata, Altoona, with the Rev. Walter J.

Emswiler officiating. Interment was made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Memorial contributions, in remembrance of Robert J. Isenberg. may be given to the Central Pennsylvania Lung and Health Service Association, 123 Forster Harrisburg, Pa.

17101 or to American Heart Association, 501 Howard Altoona, Pa. 16601. James P. Masood Saxton native; dies while in area for reunion James P. Masood, 73, of Charles Frederick, died unexpectedly on Friday, Sept.

1,1995, in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. He had returned to the area to attend the reunion of the Class of 1940 of Saxton-Liberty High School. Born July 29, 1922, in Saxton, he was a son of the late James and Alice E. (Piper) Masood.

He was married to the former Priscilla Reed, daughter of Hannah J. Reed of Saxton, 44 years ago. Surviving are his wife, at their home; two children, James M. Masood of Darien, and Mrs. Gregory P.

(Lisa Masood) Giles of Portland, and two grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Richard (Martha) Shoemaker of Saxton, and a number of nieces and nephews. One brother, Allie N. Masood, preceded him in death.

Mr. Masood was an active member of First Church of the Nazarene, Frederick, Md. Educated in the public schools of Saxton, Mr. Masood went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh, Class of 1962, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity the Pitt Marching Band, and a Master of Arts from Colgate University, in 1968. For 17 years, Mr.

Masood was employed with the Frederick County (Md.) School Board. He began his career as a science teacher then, for his last 13 years, was supervisor of transportation. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Masood served with the U.S. Army and was decorated with the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, with two Oak Clusters, and the Good Conduct Medal for service in the Asiatic- Pacific Theatre of Operations and the Philippines.

While in the service, he was a member of the U.S. Army Marching Band. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 7899 Opos- sumtown Pike, Frederick, with the Rev.

Richard G. Diffenderfer, assisted by Pastor Paul Buchanan, officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Saxton. Friends may call at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, today (Tuesday), from 2-4 'and 7-9 p.m., and at the church Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in remembrance of James P. Masood, may be given to First Church of the Nazarene, for the Building Fund, 7899 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Md. 21702 or to Frederick Memorial Hospital, Cardiac Care Unit, 400 W. Seventh Frederick, Md. 21701.

Victor E. Sheterom Hopewell R.D. 1 man dies unexpectedly Victor E. Sheterom, 91, of R.D. 1, Box 303, Hopewell, died unexpectedly at 11 a.m.

Saturday, Sept. 2, 1995, at his home. Born June 5, 1904, in Saxton, he was a son of the late Harry and Rose Ann (Cogan) Sheterom. He was married three times: first, to Mary Postolwaite, then, to Vera Cogan, both of whom preceded him in death; then, to Diora Fink. Surviving are his wife, at their home; a daughter, Mrs.

Dale (Mary Gene) Foore of Tulsa, a stepdaughter, JoAnn Scritchfield, Hopewell R.D. two grandsons; and one great-granddaughter. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Mr. Sheterom attended the Bedford Forge United Methodist Church, Hopewell R.D.

Mildred He was a member of the Six Mile Run Volunteer Fire Company. During his life, Mr. Sheterom had worked as a line surveyor for a number of years and was also a railroad employee, photographer and schoolbus driver. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept.

6, at the D. Ronald Long Funeral Chapel, Saxton, with Pastor Robert Rupp officiating. Interment will be in Foclder Cemetery, Saxton J). There will be no public viewing, but friends will be received at the funeral chapel today (Tuesday), from 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions, in remembrance of Victor E.

Sheterom, may be given to Bedford Forge United Methodist Church, R.D. 1, Hopewell, Pa. 16650. E. Stoler Former Saxton woman dies at Homewood Homes Mrs.

Mildred E. Stoler, 91, of Homewood Homes, Martinsburg, formerly of Saxton, died at 8:25 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, 1995, at the retirement center. Born April 23, 1904, in Saxton, she was a daughter of the late Robert Gernan and Carrie (Smith) Gogley.

She was married to Jacob L. Stoler on July 12, 1922, in Saxton. Mr. Stoler died just two weeks ago, on Aug. 21, 1995.

Surviving is one sister, Helen A. Oarlock, of McConnellsburg. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Ann S. Starr, and a sister, Sara Palmer. Mrs.

Stoler was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Saxton. During her life, she was primarily Rev. Paul R. Rowland The Rev. Paul R.

Rowland, 87, of York County, formerly of the southern Huntingdon County area, died at 6:50 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, 1995, at York County Hospital and Home. Funeral arrangements, under the direction of the Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, Cassville, are incomplete.

A full obituary will be published in Wednesday's edition of The Daily News. a homemaker. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at the D.

Barnett introduced Charlotte Snyder who presented an update on the Maude Ritchey Scholarship fund now known as the Saxton-Liberty Fund.

The $500 scholarship was established three years ago in memory of the late Maude (Long) Ritchey, a retired teacher from the Saxton- Liberty and Tussey Mountain School District, who died in the spring of 1992. Ritchey was well known and respected as an educator in the Saxton area. Members of the fund committee are Linda Barton, Peggy Donaldson, Donna Lemin, Donna Ritchey and Charlotte Snyder. The first scholarship of $500 was presented during last year's banquet to Karen Stetchock of James Creek. This year another $500 was added to the scholarship as a result of a $500 contribution in memory of William Shea by his sister Mary, bringing the scholarship total to $1,000.

In the absence of committee fund' treasurer Linda Barton, Snyder presented the $1,000 scholarship to Justin Barton, 20-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barton of Saxton. Barton is a 1993 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School and is a sophomore at Shippensburg University.
