Raid Fails To Flush Out Patty NASHVILLE. Tenn.

(UPI) Nashville police raided a house suspected of housing fugitive heiress Patricia Hearst late Tuesday night, but a white woman who had lived there for a time was gone, officers said. Detective Sgt. Sherman Nickens said the woman could iave been Miss Hearst. Heavily armed officers surrounded the house in a predominantly black area arid ordered its occupants outside. Two black men and two black women emerged.

Nickens said two of the occupants picked out pictures of Miss Hearst as being the woman who had lived in the house for an undetermined length of time. The occupants had conflicting reports on when the white woman left. They said she had a baby with her and left in a car with Florida tags with a black man. One witness said she was in the house as late as last Saturday. Nickens said a picture found in the house had a resemblance to Miss Hearst.

He said officers had been on the case since receiving a tip Tuesday from a grocery delivery boy. who said a white woman staying in the house looked like pictures he had seen in the newspaper of Miss Hearst. In the states with the lowest beer consumption South Carolina. Alabama and Arkansas average resident drank about 26 quarts a year. The same general pattern appeared in statistics from the 24 Half Acre Is Burned About a half-acre of property owned by Ralph C. Moyer. Myerstown RD 1, adjacent to the Lebanon Valley Golf Course, burned late yesterday afternoon.

The flames threatened a storage building nearby, according to Chief Mahlon Hemperly Myerstown Goodwill Fire Co. Cause of the fire was unknown. Hemperly said the fire was primarily confined to leaves and underbrush, but did spread to firewood stacked against the side of an aluminum-covered building. Although the fire scorched the paint off an area six by two feet, Hemperly said damage to the building was "negligible." Inside the building was a house trailer, golf carts and lawn equipment. Apparently Moyer pulled the stacked fire wood away from the structure, saving further damage.

Hemperly said 60 men from the Goodwill and Keystone fire companies were on the call for more than an hour. Wisconsin has the highest per capita beer consumption, an average 100 quarts a year, and ranked just behind New York and Rhode Island in deaths from rectal cancer, about 9 per 100.000. California, with 59 quarts average, had seven deaths per 100.000.

A weakness of the study, the authors noted, was that it is based on statewide averages, not directly on beer drinkers. But. they said, a study in New York showed that 35 per cent of men with rectal cancer and 31 per cent with intestinal cancer were beer drinkers, compared with 1.9 per cent beer drinkers in a control group. Fire Scare The Lickdale Fire Co. investigated a fire yesterday afternoon just off'the Fredericksburg to Lickdale Road, a quarter-mile east of Lickdale, which turned out to be controlled, burning.

OUR DIAMONDS ARE NTVER DULL Dull diamonds do exist. They have no fire because they're badly cut or of poor color. A small well-cut diamond can flash brilliantly across a room. You'll never get a dull diamond from us.

CLARK Member American Gem Society 636 Cumberland Street Next To Royer's Cake Box Phone 272-8851 BUENOS AIRES (UPI) An army officer kidnaped by leftist guerrillas 10 months ago was shot to death Tuesday night when police closed in on a "people's jail" located in the back of a speeding van.

Police sources said the driver of the truck shot Lt. Col. Jorge Ibarzabal in the face as patrol cars chased the van through the streets of suburban Quilmes. The sources said a policeman was wounded before authorities finally cut off the guerrilla van and captured the driver. A second truck carrying up to six guerrillas managed to get away.

The sources said provincial police spotted a caravan of two trucks traveling through Quilmes Tuesday night and tried to question the drivers. The occupants opened fire and sped off with patrol cars in pursuit. The sources said officers heard shots as police cut off one of the trucks. Inside, Ibarzabal lay dead in the back with bullet holes in his face. Police sources said he was in a "people's jail" cell in the back of the truck.

The cell was covered with a windowless canvas tent to prevent him from finding out where he was. Ibarzabal's death came five days after his wife took out an advertisement in a Buenos Aires newspaper telling him, "I you to be strong, as you have been up to now. because it adds to our strength." The People's Revolutionary Army captured Ibarzabal Jan. 19 at a tank garrison base located 180 miles south of Buenos Aires. The post commander and his wife died in the attack.

The Marxist guerrilla group, known by the Spanish acronym ERP. also holds an army officer captured during a raid on an ammunition depot and the operator of an Argentine steel mill. At least 185 persons have been killed this year in guerrilla battles, kidnapings and shootouts between leftist and rightist members of the late President Juan Peron's labor-based political movement.
