MLS Commissions as low as 4.5 By MIKE McXIBBIN The Daily Sentinel PARACHUTE Three natural-gas companies are building new roads north of Parachute to get drilling crews to well sites on private property on the Roan Plateau and surrounding areas.

One of those roads features a tunnel, while another has led to dust complaints, a Garfield County official said at the monthly energy advisory board meeting Thursday night. Williams Production spokeswoman Susan Alvillar said the companys Wheeler Gulch Allen Point Road will leave County Road 215 about four and a half miles north of Parachute, Co. of Englewood will build the tunnel. The single-lane tunnel will have traffic control devices at both ends, so drivers will know if a vehicle is headed toward them, Alvillar said. When its all done, well have cut a 70-mile trip down to five miles, she said.

Occidental Oil and Gas plans to build the six-mile long Cascade Canyon Road on private property, west of the Roan Plateau, for similar reasons, Regulatory Coordinator Doug Dennison said. Weve got several wells about three-quarters of a mile apart physically, but because of the geography of the area, we have to and features four switchbacks that climb up to 8,200 feet on top of the Roan Plateau. Williams has had some gas wells on private property up there since the 1980s, and we drilled three more last year, she said. This road will save seven hours travel time for our crews. They have to go north of Rifle, turn onto the Piceance Creek Road and then Cow Creek and Rim Roads on the plateau.

The new road, on private property Williams has leased from ExxonMobil, will include a tunnel, with work on that to start this summer, she said. It could be finished by early next year. Peter Kiewit Construction drive down two roads for about 26 miles, and it takes about two to two-and-a-half hours, Dennison said. "When were done, this will cut that trip down to seven miles. The new road is to be finished by late this summer, he said.

Petroleum Development Corp.s road is about seven miles north of Parachute off County Road 215. Acting Oil and Gas Liaison Jess Smith said he had received several calls about dust from that project The callers wanted to know if they were seeing smoke from a forest fire, but its dust from that road project, he said. 3M buys Montrose plant; says it will Be the first to know when new listings are added to the MLS. much to do. Law enforcement officers enforce immigration laws. Proof of U.S. citizenship be required to be able to vote.

DENVER Mariachi music played in the background Friday as a House committee nixed a request from a Republican lawmaker to call a special session to deal with illegal immigration. Rep. Dave Schultheis of Colorado Springs called for a session because, he said, bills passed by the legislature, which adjourns next week, only scratch the surface of true immigration reform. While I will agree that his body has done more this session on this issue when compared; to past sessions, it has done so kicking and screaming and avoided several key-issues, Schultheis said. To no surprise, the State, Veterans Military Affairs Committee voted 6-5 on a party-line vote to kill the proposal.
